How could I?

I can't believe I've done this, but I think I've just talked DH out of adding on some more points

I'm the self-confessed DVC fan in our family, but DH took me by surprise the other day by saying he thought perhaps we should take advantage of the exchange rate at the moment by buying some extra points. After I'd recovered from the shock, I did all the research, found out points costs, maintenance costs, looked at resale vs direct, etc., etc., and costed it all out.

Then we sat down and talked it through and I was the one saying we didn't really need any more points at the moment for our current typical usage (although our next trip taking along both DMs and DD has stripped us of most points this year and next). How could I have said that? LOL!

So - am I right to be so rational, or should I back-track and agree that now is a good time to be adding on? We were looking at 25 - 30 extra points at either VB, OKW or SSR (our current home resort is VWL), so not a huge outlay or additional maintenance costs, but still enough to need thinking about.

We did a small add on - 27 points at AKL - we didn`t really need them but thought why not?
Five minutes on the phone and we were a few dollars lighter I just liked the idea of owning at AKL.

Well, I've back-tracked We've now pretty much decided to add a small VB contract while the exchange rate is in our favour.

We're going to try to buy from DVC rather than resale if possible, as I'm not sure there would be much cost difference on a small contract, and buying from DVC is so simple and straightforward I don't know how likely it is that Disney will already have any VB points with our UY, so I'll be in touch with our guide soon to find out the best way of going ahead

This thread really made me laugh because I've gone back and forth on whether to add more points so many times recently.

So far I have resisted - but then, I have a master contract with 5 small add-ons already. But I'm always thinking about it.

we just did an add on whilst we were out got $2 to the £1 so went for it did the tour of Animal Kingdon lodges which were lovely but stuck with SSR
