How comfortable are the pull out sofas at AKL studios?

Looking to rent points and stay here, but my 15 yo would have to sleep on it and is worried it will be uncomfortable.

Tell him/her to suck it up or stay home. Some may think they are great; others will insist they are terrible. My son got stuck sleeping on them for years on our trips and now doesn't want to sleep on them, so he sleeps in his own bed at home (here in Orlando - he lives here now).

I slept on one a couple of weeks ago at Kidani. It was ok. I was only there one night though. I am not sure how I would feel about it if I had to sleep on it for a week.

I stayed in an AKV studio with my daughter and niece (both 23 at the time) a few years ago. We were there for 5 nights. They tolerated it well but were not crazy about the thought of doing it ever again.

If having an actual bed is important to your 15-year-old's happiness (and thereby yours as well), OKW would be a better choice.

He's 15, I agree with @Deb & Bill. It's good training for college dorms, the military, or that point in time when you can't afford to upgrade the futon and you're enduring it when you're about 22.

Won't even mention "marching band," because if he's 15 he's already doing it, or probably won't ever.

I'm now looking at OKW. He's autistic so I'm pretty sure even if it was ok, he's already decided it will be terrible, therefore, it will....for all of us:rotfl:

All right, you hadn't mentioned that detail. You might be better at OKW or a Mod in that case.

(I do differentiate between "typical teen whining" and "autism," for the record.)

Yes and there's a fine line that's hard to tell sometimes. It may be a little of both. We are used to the moderates, and he just happens to have always wanted to stay at OKW for some reason. So not sure what we will end up doing. Everyone has helped greatly though because had everyone said they were actually quite comfortable, I may have made him try. But it sounds like it's not quite the case, so will go back to the drawing board.

If it is just him have him sleep on the couch without opening it into a bed. Many have reported here that the couch is fine for that.
