This past Saturday when my family and I made our reservations for this December we were able to get the AAA rate, which means we called to call CRO to ask them for it. Anyway I was wondering and maybe I did not see a section for it, but how come you can not make a reservation with the AAA rate on the WDW website? In the past when we have made reservations at Hampton Inn's on their website when the rates came up we could also select the AAA rate, so why does the WDW website not have that option?

You mean you want to book AAA rate on disney's website? I didnt think you could. I thought you had to go to AAA site to book or call disney

Well I was wondering since you can call CRO and ask them for it, why can't it be done on their website like other hotel chains do when guests make reservations online?

Probably a multitude of reasons, with some due to IT issues thrown in.
And they all probably comes down to a variety of reasons that have to do with $. ;)

I was just wondering this same thing actually. I understand that if you want a package you have to go directly to AAA, but whenever I use my AAA discount to book "normal" non-disney hotels its is possible from their websites. Heck, I think you can book AAA discount room at Swan/Dolphin from their website. I just wondered why that feature was never built into Disney's website. Make everyone else's lives more complicated I guess???

That is true but let's not forget it is possible since they are not owned by WDW and must be one reason why they are not available on the WDW website.

ok, I can't resist - it was never built in because Disney's IT department stinks. Heck they can barely get the system to function consistently let alone do special stuff. Sorry, just had to say it.
