I'm from the Midwest....anything around the 60's is heaven for us in December....

Our favorite parks are AK and MK....too cold for either with DD8?

It can vary big time in December. Most days last year during the first week in Dec it was very nice in the 60's but then come end of week a cold front moved in and it was COLD around 40 for the high that day with a light rain most of the day.

So chances are you will be just fine but you can also hit a cold spell.

I went this past December (12/3 - 12/11) and I found it to be rather warm. Alot warmer than we had planned. Nights we usually needed a heavy sweatshirt, but during the day it was hot.

You'll be fine at any park!!!

We have been in the 2nd week of Dec the past 3 years or so....this past Dec was great...shorts and T-shirts....upper 70's low 80's all week till our last day then it cooled down to mid 60's....the prvious 2 years was alot more wintery....mid 60's all week....One thing is you shouldnt have to wrry about rain....boy did I just jinx my upcoming trip in Dec

we were there in 02 and had to leave MK to get winter coats & pants before heading to EpCot at noontime

We were there during the 1st week of December in 1999 and it was perfect weather - Sunny Low 80's/High 70's almost all week. The day we went home was cloudy and in the low 60's. I really hope that there will be similiar weather this December. :)

We were there in 2002, from Thanksgiving weekend thru the first week in December. We had days that were 80 degrees & did Blizzard Beach. But we also had some chilly days/evenings that required pants, coats & gloves. Be prepared for anything! You'll enjoy, no matter what the weather! :goodvibes

I was there in early Dec in 2002 and it was cool and rainy. I was there last December 3 -- 10 and it was beautiful. Sunny and warm, cooler evenings. Both Saturdays were chilly and jackets and long pants were needed in the day. You can never predict the weather in early Dec. Let's prayer for some nice weather this year!!!

Here's a link to another thread that tells about a web site where you can get historical weather data for any dates of the year - all the way back to 1996. For location, I typed in MCO since it is the closest airport to Disney World.

Hope this gives you an idea of what to expect. I was glad to use it for some sense of how the weather will be when we go the last two weeks of December. We had a couple of really cold days when we were there in December of 2000, (high of only 45 degrees), but that seems to be a rarity rather than the norm.

It could be ANYTHING in early December! We went the first week in December of 2004 and I asked this very same question and checked the weather regularly -- I was preparing for somewhat cool weather, packed a couple sweatshirts and prepared the kids that might not be able to swim. The week before we went people were reporting that is was pretty chilly -- sweatshirt weather -- the week we actually went, it was upper 80's and one day it was even 90! It didn't even cool off at night, the night we went to MVMCP it was HOT, we wore shorts and t-shirts and the kids were in the pool til midnight the night before! -- The very next week? People were complaining they had to wear hats and gloves! :rotfl:

All you can do is be prepared for ANYTHING. Being from up North though, I'm sure anything will seem balmy compared to home! :teeth:

We were there for four days this past December and had two days in the 60's and two in the low 70's. It can vary though but usually is a nice time to go.

We've gone in early December the past 7 years. We've seen highs of low 50's and highs of low 80's. Normal is mid 70's. Last year was wonderful (Dec 4 to 10), the first day was a little cool (60's), the next day was 70's, the rest of the trip was low 80's. Very little rain, except for 2002 when we had 2 days with solid hard rain (not consecutive, Monday and Thursday).

EARLY DECEMBER 2001.
IN THE 80'S.
LOVED IT! lOVED IT!
LIVE IN OREGON ( RAINS ALL WINTER).
GREW UP IN ILLINOIS (SNOWS ALL WINTER).

Hi
We are from Michigan, so we are use to extreme weather. In Dec 2003 we had warm days, but when the sun went down --look out. It was kinda like our fall weather.
Some things I packed, that took up very little room, but made a big difference was thin knit gloves, fleece head bands and turtlenecks for under sweatshirts. Just enough to take the chill off. We even had several families comment how prepared we were. I found that when the temp. said 40, it felt like 30 because of the humid air.
