I went to look at 2 old lenses, 50mm f1.8 and 100-300 1:4.5-5.6 and found that they were both slow to focus. The lenses haven't been used in years so were dirty, the seller wants $125 for each which I thought was too much for used lenses. But the seller keep telling me that the older lenses have much better "glass" and quality. Anybody know if there's any truth to "older" being "better"?
BTW, I have posted before about buying a Nikon D50, but after a weekend playing with friend's Rebel, I fell in love. Love that backlit LCD (now I know what the fuss is about)in a dimly lit bowling alley birthday party!
