How can you go to parks if your room isn't ready?

This may be a dumb question but I need to know how this works. Here is what we're doing

Wed - room only garden view reservation for Poly, arriving late, no tickets with it
Thurs - changing to Club level at Poly for rest of trip with our 5 day hopper passes attached.

Since we'll already be at the Poly, we'd like to get up early, check out maybe 8am give the front desk our luggage, and pre-check in for our Club level room reservation, then go to the park til lunch time. Can we do this? How exactly does it work? Will we be able to get our room keys but they just don't actually work for a room yet, and will work for the parks? Thanks!

No worries. On the Thursday morning, just go down to check-in to your new room! They'll say "you're room isn't ready yet," of course. ha-ha.

However, they will give you all your room keys, with your tickets on them, no problem. Furthermore, they will give you a phone number to call in the afternoon, to get your room number.

when you check out you can check in to the second reservation then and there, get your tickets, have your bags stored and head off to the parks.

If you are checked in, they will give you your room key at that time, and you will be able to use the tickets then. When they actually assign the room to you, all keys to the room should work. You will be instructed to call periodically to be sure your room/rooms are ready when it's time to leave the park. We've done this several times, and have never had a problem. Lately, we avoid the parks altogether and just go to the pool, but the procedure is the same. There is also a chance your room will be ready at the time you check in. That's always nice. Ya just never know!
