We decided to go for the late seating times and we've just booked our Palo reservation for 6pm, so we can hopefully eat once in palo and then once late at whichever other restaurant we would miss otherwise.

Is this possible? Can we have two dinners? If so, how do we go about making sure they're both on our dining schedule for that night?

Sounds so greedy I know but we just want to try them all!

Yes you can, and you don't have to do anything.

The main dining rooms are always on your schedule. So just show up as always. They do not track that you are also eating someplace else, so your place will be waiting for you as always.

Palo at 6:00 then off to your regularly scheduled dining room at 8:30 for your late seating...this is affectionately called "double dipping" on these boards.

Ah, the "Disney Double Dip".

Yes, Virginia, it's true.

I have done it.

I had the early seating and an 8pm Palo. Did not want to miss the special dinner. (My server Liam begged us not to. How could we look him in the eye and say NO?).

So yes, we did the double dip.

There is no truth to the rumour that thereafter, the ship would list to whichever side I walked on!

Enjoy. You are on vacation.

Thanks for the smile this morning. My DH told me that as much money as we're spending on this cruise, he plans to eat $1,000 worth ;)

In the spirit of this thread I have to show you this pic (click the link).....there were 6 of us but you can count 10 dinners on the table.....we did this all week. You can order as many apps, entrees and dessert that you wish....the sad part is we ate it all!!!!

Use the stairs all week and that really helps to keep away the pounds!!!

You can triple, quadtruple, or quinttriple dip if you want....if you also go to Topsiders buffet, Pluto's Dog House and Pinocchio's Pizzeria.

We double dipped one night too. We took the kids to early seating, DH ate two lobsters, then we dropped the kids off at the Club and went to Palo. I think DH (and the rest of us later) regretted eating so much, but it was a fun night. DD LOVED our server  , and could not bear to miss a night with him, so we had no choice.

Absolutely. Have fun and eat a little extra for me :cool1:

(make sure you get to the AP show the first night)

Oh, you'll have to let me know it goes. I wanted to do the same thing, as we also have late seating for our Jan. cruise. I posted something about it here, but my idea kinda got shot down, as some people were negative about it in the sense that it was too much food. I was just concerned about the time since I wasn't real sure how long it would take in Palo.

We have main dining (6pm) and an 8:30pm Palo ressie --- we eat "light" in the main dining room and "pig out" at Palo when we double dip :)

LOL! Yeah, I'll have to. Either that or check the suitcase to see if he's stashed left-overs in our souvenier suitcase while he's trying to finish getting his money's worth :) Funny thing is that he's training for the Disney 1/2 Marathon which will be two weeks after we get back, so he's not going to actually eat as much as he's threatening to :)

It's common to double dip, especially on the short cruise. On the first night we ate at 6PM with our table, then went to Palos for the last reservation of the day. Of course DH was a little green from the rough seas, so he had soup and bread, I had a main course and dessert.
