How can I use Mom's (FLA res) name but I pay for ressies?

okay....I have failed miserably trying to call CRO (busy, busy, busy)....so I want to book this online but not sure of the whole issue of how I can make this work. Sooo, here's my story....

My step-mom, bro, sis are FLA residents with seasonal passes. We are meeting them at Disney World in April for a family get together. As a Christmas present to them I am going to pay the down payment for the hotel, but obviously I need to make the ressies in my step-mom's name in hopes that FLA res rates come out. Is it possible to make the ressies in my step mom's name but use my credit card to make the down payment? When I tried to do this online it asked for the 4 people who would be in the room and it automatically put MY name as person number one cuz that is who I typed in as card owner for my credit card..which means is that the ressie would be in MY name not hers....sans no FLA res discount!!!

I don't want to send them the $$ cuz 1) it is a surprise gift that I am doing this....they know we are going but don't know I am paying the down payment and 2) if my step mom did know she would never allow me to do it so I need to have it DONE before she knows I'm doing it!!

If this makes sense to anyone and have an answer I'd love to hear from you!! To all others, sorry I'm confusing you all....don't feel bad tho cuz I definitely confused myself in the process!!!

Everytime I have called they have asked if I want to make the downpayment then or later. So, technically, I suppose you could send them a check for payment later. The only thing I'm not sure is if they would mail the "bill" to your address or want to mail it to Florida. You could just ask them - I don't think you're doing anything "wrong" since there is a Florida resident staying in the room, so I would think that perhaps they could have a "billing address" elsewhere, as long as your mother is the one checking in to show her driver's license. Just my thoughts - I could be wrong - but it doesn't hurt to ask. Good luck.

Oops, I totally missed the not getting through to CRO part. Don't think you're going to find away around without talking to them though. I know how you feel. We were at Disney last week the morning the AP rates came out, so I'm on hold with CRO, trying to get dressed to go to parks with a cell phone glued to my ear, scared to put it down even for a second for fear that someone would pick up then. Finally made it through though. I've had best luck around 3:00 EST.

I've tried calling at all different times of day and I wouldn't mind sitting and waiting on the phone for so long except that its not an 800 number!! Does anyone know the hours for the CRO? I'm hoping its open after 9 pm cuz then my cell minutes are free.

Thjey are only open til 9pm. On another thread I found these 800 numbers. Haven't used them yet. You could give them a try. 1-800-828-0228 & 1-877-939-3732. Also, I made ressies in my MIL's name but paid in full with my credit card when I called. They sent the confirmation to her though.

ON my quickie November trip I booked AKL with my mother's FLA rate via 407 w disney. My name was on the reservations, as I intended to pay for the room as a gift. Her name was down as a guest. All we had to do was show her ID at the counter when we checked in. I paid for the room with my "Michigan" credit card. None of this was a problem at all. I hope this helps!

Ugh!!!! They are open until 11 pm and I finally got through last night but the computers were down so they couldn't do the ressie!!! I have to try again tonight, but thank you all...its good to know that it is something I can accomplish! I expected that they would send the bill to her (but by then some of it will be paid, the way i figure is if we get FL rates then the downpayment will have paid for almost 2 nights!)....I know they can type in general comments on the bill.....mmm (thinking aloud)....I wonder if they would put on there Surprise! Merry Christmas! from me? Now the only thing to worry about is that my stubborn (but very sweet and loving!) step mom will get the bill and pay the rest of hers and OUR room!! Oh those darn wicked step mothers
