How can I transport luggage from one hotel to another?

Hi. I need to get 2 suitcases from Kidani (AKL Villas) to Bay Lake Towers. Can I take them on the park bus (thinking from Kidani to Magic Kingdom then get monorail right to Contemporary)? Is a taxi from one to the other expensive? What are my options?

No taxi needed. Take your bags to luggage services and let them know you need them transferred, they will take care of this for you. We have done this many times on split stays. Easy Peasy

If we do this in the evening, will it still get over there that same night? My brother is taking them home with him the next morning, and we would like to keep the luggage as long as possible the night before.

My advice would be to get the luggage to bell services as soon as you check out of AKL Villas, they should reach BLT in a few hours. I would definitely ask to be sure.

You can transfer luggage from one WDW resort to another but it can take a long time IME. If you drop off the bags at check out - 10 ish or before and then head to a park for the day they "should " be there by check in time at the new resort 3/4ish but for us on a few occasions it has taken longer.

If you really need your bags after check out and or before check in then I would spend a few $ on a cab and transfer them yourselves. IIRC it should be less than $20 before tip but there is a fare calculator on the mears taxi site.

Luggage is not allowed on the park buses so that isn't an option.

eta after reading your follow up - if you are not a guest at BLT then I doubt WDW will transfer your bags for you - the only time I have done this is when I am actually moving from one resort to another. If that is the case you will have to pay for a cab.
