How can I request a specific building at Riverside - so we can be near our family who are already there?

My son and his family checked in today at Riverside. We are arriving on Monday to hang out with them for a few days. We have our own reservation for the same type of room they had their reservation for.
They are in the alligator by you number 28.
We would like to be in the same building if possible or close to them.
Who would I contact to request this particular building? By phone or email? Because we arrive in two days I’d like to give the hotel a chance to honor our request.

It may already be too late - rooms are generally assigned 5 days out. At this point your best bet would be to just go by the front desk and ask if there is a room in building 28 available.

In the future you should have a "traveling with" notification put on both reservations and put the request in at the time of booking. Realize that it's still only a request.

Can your son go to the front desk with your confirmation number and ask them about putting you close to them. I know (years ago) my cousin was able to do that with us when they arrived before us.

That’s perfect! I’ll ask him to do just that ~~. I never even thought of that!

Yes definitely check with the front desk. The week of Christmas, something like this might be more difficult to accommodate last minute, but we were in Disney last week and it was such low crowds, I don’t see a request like that being too difficult to accommodate. We were at CSR and there wasn’t anyone in the entire Ranchos section. At least not driving their own vehicles and no one was ever waiting at the bus stop. Hope you have a great week!

You could ask when you check in. At Coronado this last May we had a somewhat tandem trip with cousins. No solid plans together besides being at the same resort. When we checked in they asked if we were waiting for anyone else and without thinking we said, "no, others will be arriving tonight". We had no intention of staying near one another. But when the cousins arrived later in the night they were right next door! They booked months after us. It was nice!

Call disney reservations. There is not a call direct to the resort option.
