How can I add a 4th person to an ADR for 3 without cancelling and rebooking?

My family and I are going to WDW during the free dining promo. I booked all of the ADRs the day I booked the package, and just called today to add my sister on to the package, which went fine until I called back to add her to the ADRs, which puzzles me. We had ADRs for 3 people, so I didn't think adding one person would be a big issue, but the CM said I would have to cancel everything and see if there was an opening for 4. I told her that I thought most tables would have a spot for the 4th person anyway, so thought I could just bump it up to 4. She said she wasn't sure why she couldn't add the 4th person without cancelling, but she cannot, and suggested perhaps it was due to maximum occupancy restrictions of each restaurant :confused3 She said that if I do cancel, odds of getting the restaurants I already have booked is not going to happen because things are so full already.

Any suggestions as to how I could go about adding my sister without cancelling and rebooking :confused3

Odds are you can show up at the restaurant with 4 instead of 3 and not have a problem. A party of three would be seated at a 4 top.

I agree, just show up.

last fall my brothers familey decided to go with us. some of our ressie our ta got changed from 4 to 8 but most got changed to 5 or 6. She said show up and they will get us in. We didn't have any problums at all. I never saw a table for 3 in any of the places. Have fun.

Yes I agree a table for 3 would have 4 seats should have no problem just going. Last year we change 2 to 4 and were mixed DDP and OOP but we did call and add to the ADR and that with no problem. It's all additional money for them so they will be ok with that.

Thanks so much :)

I was afraid there for a minute we'd have to do 'rock, paper, scissors, loser sits outside' lol.

Only people sitting outside are the ones that didn't make ADR's. During free DDP last year we saw people being turned away that didn't have ADR's.

I would call again & see if you get the same answer from another cm. I had adr,s for 3 in sept. & then had to call & add 1 more person & I had no problem @all. I think it all depends who you talk to. As it was said earlier most tables are for 4 not 3 so it should,nt be such a big deal. LOL.:yay: :cool2: :cheer2:

I added my DD to our dining reservations with no problem. I had them all for 3 and then she decided to join us. When I called the cast member told me that it was not a problem because most tables are for 3 so we had the extra seat. I would call back and try again. the only place we could not add a 4th was O'hana's so we got her a table for 1 and when we get there they said they might be able to give a table for 4 or sit her right next to us.

We were told that every table for 3 IS a table for 4..think about that. This was for CRT. When we arrived, we just told them there was a fourth person and it was fine. SO, you will have no problems at all.
