We have never been durong this time of year but want to go for the Flower and Garden Fest.. Is it super busy? Should I make all my ADR's or can I wing it? It will just be two of us. Thanks!!

Welcome to the DIS!

Crowds are quite manageable, Epcot can get busy on Mother's Day due to the F&GF and the Mother's Day Brunch.

You should always make ADRs if you know where you want to eat. Sit-down restaurants are busier than ever (even in times where the parks are not that busy) because of the dining plan. And many WDW restaurants--among them Chef Mickey's, Sci-Fi, Prime Time, CRT, Crystal Palace--are crowded all the time.

Have fun!

We will be there the second week of May. I picked this time because it's after Spring breaks and Easter breaks and before schools are out so am hoping for less crowds. We have been one time before at this time and it was quite nice. It is highly recommended on these boards that you make ADR's no matter what time of year you go. This goes against the grain for me but broke down and did it anyway - made 1 ADR for each day we will be there. We may cancel one or two after we get there but was afraid not to make them.

That's when we are going (first week). I made all my ADRs near the 180 day mark. I called back in January to try to change something and I couldn't get want I wanted, so I ended up leaving things as is.

It'll be average attendence. Great weather. Alway's Alway's make ADR's. It's one of my favorite times to go. I was at Epcot on Mother's Day last year and it was very busy but Epcot is large enough that it was still very enjoyable and we did everything we wanted including Soaring 2x, Mission 2x and Test Track 2x. The Flower Festival is so beautiful! Get your camera ready!

I love May! It is a great time to go. Nice weather and moderate crowds. We went May of 2004, and we are going again this May (first week). :goodvibes Make ADR's. It will make your trip run more smoothly. :wizard:

See you there!

We were there the first week of May last year and crowds were quite manageable, much better than March & April! ;) Hoping for the same this year, we'll be there the very end of April until the first few days of May.

I always make ADR's for all of our trips. Sometimes we keep them and sometimes we cancel them if we decide to do something else that day, but at least we have them to fall back on. As mentioned already it is a "must" for the more popular places because it is very difficult to get in there without them. In both Oct. and Dec. we made CP ADR's and when we were in line checking in they told anyone without an ADR/PS that they had nothing available. This is the case a lot with CM's as well...especially breakfast.

The Flower & Garden Festival is beautiful. They also had a lot of fun activites for the kids. We enjoy this almost every year. :flower1: :flower: :daisy:

Been during May twice and I think it can be busy. I've found by the middle of February crowds continually pick up.

May has the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot. This event seem to be getting more and more crowded each year. I know they say average attendence, I find it to be a little more then average.

Plus May starts the Grad Nights which draws tons of Graduating Seniors from all over the country.

We will be there the 1st week of May and we just love that time of year. Crowds are very manageable and the weather is great. We always make ADR's after we find out what days' we will be at which park. You can always cancel an ADR.

Enjoy!

PS. The strawberries are fantastic that time of year!

We're also going the first week of May. From what I've read crowds are pretty managable. I would make ADRs. We did ours in late Febrary and while we did manage to get every restaurant we wanted to, we had to juggle our planned schedule to do it.

I just made ADRs last night for the first week in May, I'm going then too. I got pretty much what I wanted but then again I didn't ask for any character breakfasts or anything. There were still limited times available for some of them though so I wouldn't leave it. It's pretty quick and painless to do up a rough draft of which parks which days and restaurants to go with them - even if you change your plans you can always call that morning and cancel your ADRs.

I made them at:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Le Cellier
Sci Fi Dine-In
Rose And Crown
House Of Blues (online)

Yay! One month away!!

Well I will be making my first trip to wdw May 8th-20th. Im so excited i cant wait ;). I going solo so i can do what want when i want :)

Anyone wants to chat feel free to message me :) :cool1:

Thank you all very much! I always make ADRs (I am an overplanner!) but with this being a quick trip I was going to wing it. My DH has asked where we are eating so I guess I need to plan something so he doesn't have a cow (or have to eat hamburgers every meal! ;) )

I love your mickey calender! We have such a long wait, 6 more months!!!

Well I broke down and called. I got everything for everytime I wanted! I was very surprised!!
Here is how it goes:
Wed-Dinner at Narcoossee's
Thurs- Dinner at LTT (may drop this, don't know yet)
Fri-lunch at Coral Reef
Sat-Dinner at Sci Fi

I can't wait. Only a month to go!!

We leave on the 29th of April and come back the 6th. :goodvibes

From what I hear , it is a great time to go. We used to go in April, that was until the last trip, where I felt I had to affix a cow catcher on me to clear the MASSIVE crowds. :sad2:
