How Busy is this week in Disney Pres Week I usually pull the kids out of school but since my son is getting on in school it might be a little hard to keep pulling him out. Any other suggestions?

I was just there Sunday, February 11th thru Saturday, February 17th. :cool1:

Early in the week the parks where pretty empty. But starting Friday morning the parks was packed. I saw wait times of over 80 minutes for Peter Pan and Splash Mountain. :guilty:

On Saturday, Epcot had wait times for Test Track over 90 minutes and Soaring's wait time was 105 minutes. All this and it wasn't even 1:00 pm yet.

I can't imagine how bad it got the rest of the week. It was also the coldest that I can remember it being since I started going in late January/early February in 6 years.

I'm there now. Very crowded. I cam on a last minute trip, but forgot how long some of the waits are. Beleive it or not, the wait at Pirates this am was over 2 hours with a line that ended just AFTER the Jungle Cruise entrance. I used to commando prior to my DVC purchase, and had to do some of it this week to get on the rides. What are your other choices for weeks?

I believe crowds for President's week are normally pretty large but this year crowds are a bit higher than normal because Mardi Gras and President's week fall at the same time. Next year Mardi Gras is at the beginning of February so I would think crowd levels and wait times will smaller.

Jeanine -

Keep in mind that the upstate schools get President's week off as Feb. break(I don't know about Staten Island, but I know up here in Lake George it is the case). It is always that way, and I am sure that it contributes to the lines, etc.

I just got back yesterday, and was there all last week. For the most part, it was crowded but do-able. The worst I saw - actually the worst I've ever seen since I started going in the early 70s - was at Everest. We went to Animal Kingdom at opening on Monday. We ran straight back to the safari, then went over to get fast passes for Everest. Figure this one . . . we got the fast passes at about 10am, and they had us returning at 6:40pm!?! It was definitely worth it, but I've never imagined waiting 8 hours for a ride!! I'm not sure I would do presidents' week again, but it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting.

Only time we were there on during Pres Day, Friday before crowds were in the area of days surrounding Columbus Day; except for President's Day itself:sad2: .

Our last day in the parks, since Epcot was going swell; I suggested in the afternoon we catch the monorail to the MK. :crazy2: complete gridlock; have never seen so many people; rode 2 rides in 6 hours lol. Not sure if it's because we hit the Daytona crowd too that weekend.

Of course, dealing with crowds @ Disney is none-too-shabby business IMO.;)

Crowded yes, hope they all go home arriving on saturday.

I tried to call January 26 to book a room for President's weekend and there was NOTHING on property available for either cash or DVC. From AS to a suite anywhere, it was booked. We settled for going on a last minute trip on February 2 and did get an OKW studio but there were no cash rooms available for less than $250/night and believe that was a CR garden wing. I asked the CM on the phone what was going on and he said Feb was just a very busy month between some cheerleading thing, President's Day, Valentine's Day, Daytona 500, and something else I don't recall.

Fortunately, the cheerleaders tend to be mostly out at the Sports Complex with their competition and practicing. They also tend to stay at All-Star since they are youth (fundraising, etc.)

Also, Disney (of course) planned for this week - looking at the calendar, there are extended hours at MK and at least 2 Extra Magic Hours days in all 4 parks during the week (one early, one late). I know we are going to try to go next year during that week. :cool1:
