can someone tell me how busy the parks are right after labor day?

i hopefully will arrive in florida after labor day, at the beginning of september.

i won't be queues for up to an hour per ride, will I?

Thanks

Hiya, namesake (nearly!)
We are going 24 august and will be there for labor day so on our itinerary i have put a rest day for that day - i've never been at this time of year, usually go/and prefer october but boyfriend can't get the time off then. So anyway, i have been told that the actual labor day is really busy in the parks, cos locals are off but ok after that and also the school holidays will be finishing by then too.

Maybe somebody who has been that time can give us a better idea - but i'm booked and ready to go whatever!

kool name - thanks for your reply .

yep me too.

all booked up and ready to go.

That is traditionally a slow time at WDW. Except for the actual weekend, and Labor Day itself when kids are off school and people are off work. The Florida schools start back in August.

This is truly an uncrowded time. We never had a wait of more than a few minutes in 2001.

We had planned to go back this Labor Day week, but decided to change to have more time to save $$.

It is hot and humid!

very light crowds for pretty much all of Sept. (with the obvious execption of Labor Day Weekend itself.)

We had next to no wait for anything. The most we waited for anything the entire trip was 10 min - if even that. Many attractions we would exit and get right back on.

If the world was perfect we would never go any other time of the year. (but alas - hauling DS out of school twice each year is frowned upon, so we go in the summer before school and only yank him out once for our "i need a break from winter" trip.)

I went this time last year, and even on labor day, crowds were non-existant.

EXCEPT for the weekend after labor day. I'm not sure if there's a set date for it, or if a date for this year has been announced, but they have Night of Joy, and the Magic Kingdom was a MADHOUSE toward the end of the week.

I seem to remember that it was busy up to and including Labor Day. Once the Holiday was over, it quieted down alot.
Most kids are going back to school, so the crowds are not bad.

We arrive Labor Day as well, but, have no intention of going into the parks that day ( it will be busy, if past experience is any indication). After that, it will be very quiet, as a rule. We go at this time of the year every year and enjoy the relative quiet. Most of the rides are walk ons or very short waits, again, from past experiences.

BTW expect VERY HOT AND HUMID weather.

Sorry to tag on this post, but my family was thinking of going in last week of Sept and into first week of October (to enjoy the Halloween decorations). Is it still very hot and humid still? We live in San Francisco, so anything above the 70's is considered hot!!

Thanks, Cynthia

The heat and humidity are not as bad as the summer, but, it is still hot and sometimes humid. It is a lovely time to go.

What about the crowds for the end of sept/ to the first week of oct? Never been th WDW other then in the summer months.

Thanks,
Mike W

LABOR DAY....
3 years ago, we dicided to shoot up just for the day...we have passes so it's not a big deal..figure if we go on a couple rides it'll be a cool day trip...it was EMPTY!!!
we have been every labor day since, and still empty...
as I figure, it's like "the last weekend of summer" BUT everyone heads out on monday morning...leaving the park empty....
Can't wait to go again!
