How Buddy Bizarre! (Is someone messin' w/me, or am I just losin' it?)

I just gained a "buddy."

I have no idea how my new "buddy" became my buddy.

I didn't add the person as a buddy, at least not knowingly.

Although the username is not entirely unfamiliar to me, I've never interacted with my brand-new bud.

I'm not altogether opposed to my new "buddy" being my buddy; however, it would have been nice at least to have been introduced prior to becoming bosom buds.

I hope budding buddies won't become a budding problem. I'd really hate to have to weed.


Has this happened to anyone else?

maybe you pushed the add to buddy list when you were trying to do a search?????

I just pushed it on your post and it automatically added you to my buddy list!

Hmmm... ...ok, who is it? It's someone you can't stand, isn't it?

Maybe it was the post of someone who inflamed you so much you wanted to edit that post entirely, or even put them on Ignore, but you hit the "Buddy" button instead?

Or maybe the Tag Fairy's evil twin is playing tricks?

Oh sure, way to come along and burst my buddy balloon.

I considered that possibility, but assumed (guess I assumed too much ) without checking it out that if one would hit the "add buddy" button that a screen would show up and I'd have to click on something like, "Do you want to add so-and-so to your buddy list?"

I figured rather than investigate too closely, I'd let the "Question of Buddy" linger awhile. So much for mystery..... *sigh*

I have six buddies on my list, and while I know 2 of them and am familiar with one, I don't have a clue how any of them got there.
