How big of a deal is it having to get tickets before going to the gate?

I usually buy my ticket from the booth onsite - and I've never had an issue with a long wait time. We did get one slow CM Booth employee - but it wasn't like the line was 30 people deep.

Personally I wouldn't worry enough to drive the round trip 2 hours just to pick them up early, but that being said, it depends on what time of year you're going. The busy season may have crazy lines I've never dealt with.
