How big of a deal is it if I get to DL or DCA an hour before opening and I need to get tickets before getting in line? I' getting tickets from Ares.comand from my understanding they give me a voucher to go get tickets. From what I read my party of 7 needs to be all at the ticket booth to get our tickets.

Should I

1. Pay the extra $100 get the tickets somewhere else and not worry about the ticket booth and go straight to the gate?

2. Drive to Disneyland the night before (50 min away from where I'm staying) and get the tickets so we are ready to go the next day.

3. just stick with Ares and get the tickets the same day as visit since its not a big deal.

Thanks

It looks like way.com is cheaper than Ares, and the way.com tickets you take straight to the turnstiles, no voucher/ticket booth exchange needed. My friend used way.com a few months ago with no problems and I've read good reviews about them here. Good luck!

Depends on your style how important rope drop is. If you want to maximize rides and minimize length of lines, yes, you should be there with your ticket lined up before the parks open. But if you are more laid back, have a few days to see the parks, and can stay late at night, maybe it isn't so important.

I noticed that but sadly I need to get them from Ares or Orbits. The reason being is I have about $800 in travel credit on my Barclays card and way.com does not show up in travel category. (I tested it with parking tickets). In order for my to redeem the full $800 it has to come in as travel and ares, and Orbitz are the only ones that do.

If I were to use way.com my $800 travel credit is only worth $400.

The objective is to get there and ride all the rides! I guess what I could do is just go the night before and eat dinner at DTD and pick up the tickets for the next day.

That sounds like fun! I love hanging out in DTD. Do you need everyone with you to pick up the tickets? I always have everyone with me when I pick mine up, but don't know if it's necessary.

I would assume so, but I guess we can stop by when we get picked up at the airport SNA

I'm not sure about Ares, but with Orbitz you do not need everyone there to pick up the tickets, just the person who's name is on the order. The person picking them up is the only one who needs to show ID. At least this is how it worked for us back in November. I picked them up for my whole family.

Oh, and if you do go thru Orbitz, I would advise getting them as soon as you have your firm date. Sometimes if it's too close to your trip they will not have them available. It think it has something to do with it taking about two weeks for the Orbitz purchase to get entered into Disney's system. Good luck!

Given how important this trip is to you and all the kids (I've been following your other thread!), I would take care of the tickets the night before. That way, in case there is a problem that takes time to resolve, you will have plenty of time and no pressure to get everything taken care of. And dinner at DtD can be a nice kick off to your park visit. You might want to call Ares to see if everyone needs to be there or if you can take care of this alone.

So if we have a printable voucher from Get Away Today, we should probably it to DTD the night before we plan on going to the park?

BTW- thanks for asking this question. I was wondering this myself.

We didn't get a printable voucher from GAT...just a confirmation email. I bring it just in case, but I go to the ticket booths sometime the day before, give my name and show my ID. They don't even ask to see the email, because it's in their computer system. Then they write everyone's name on each ticket and you are good to go. Of course the first time you use the ticket to enter the park they will need to take your picture.

ETA it saves a lot of time to do this the day before. I always let GAT know I'm picking up the tickets a day early

I get hard tickets from getawaytoday. I have never got vouchers or needed to print anything up.

We asked for hard tickets this time, but with the get 5 days for the price of 4 days deal they weren't offering them.

Odd they were when I ordered mine. I wonder if they only had so many. I actually made sure to ask that my reservation had the hard tickets and she said yes. I did order sorta early too I guess.

We always go exchange our vouchers the evening before, usually with little to no line at the ticket booth
