How big a child will fit in double stroller?

We have a BIG 5 1/2 year old (48", 68 lbs) son who does not have the stamina to walk all day at the parks, and have read on these boards that the double strollers are "roomy" - he would be sharing it with his much smaller 3 year old brother. Do you think he'd fit in it for a quick rest now and then? (we're not really worried about comfortable here, just to be able to get him off his feet). Do they rent wagons at the parks? Our 3 year old son also needs to ride along. Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. Thanks for your help, this board is great!

My just turned five year old(May 9th, Happy Birthday Hayden!) is 46 inches tall and 55 lbs. He and our almost three year old share a double just fine. The three year old is 41 inches tall and 38 lbs. Our five year old wears a boys size 7, and the little one wears a boys size 4 if that helps to give you a width also.
And the stroller gives you so much more control over the day. No one is dragging along.
Hope this helps!

my DS11 at the time sat in the double stroller with my DD2 on his lap...he was ill but we thought it was from eating to much candy until my DH got sick too!
He was wiped out so we let him sit in the stoller too.
Hope you have a great trip!
