How bad is POP Warner? Staying 1 night at ASSp, should I switch?

So I just found a pretty good discount for 1 night at ASSp. However, I just realized that, it's the first night of Pop warner, Dec 3rd. Currently, the next cheapest room is POR RR and it's $90 more....worth it? We are doing all 4 parks this day (long story), so we will only be in the room to sleep.

Setting aside Pop Warner for a moment, have you stayed at All Star Sports before? It's the only value resort we ever tried, and we would not return. A number of Dis-ers love POR, and wouldn't hesitate for a moment to upgrade. Even though you're only in the room to sleep, after a 4 parks day you're going to want a nice room to sleep in.

I looked at the DS hotels but by the time they add their fees, they're as much as POR and since this is a really quick stay, I was just thinking of price, not really about being comfortable. However, if I hear screaming and running kids all night, you all are right, the money saved probably isn't worth it.

My two cents....totally worth the upgrade! My daughter and I are doing a quick trip (quick to us - our trips are often 10 days) next month and staying 4 nights. We have AP's so got a great rate at Coronado. Could have stayed for a total of about $200 less at Pop, but there are always lots more loud kiddos at the values, so we feel it is so worth that extra money, even though we also won't spend much time in our room.

Stayed at AS Sports in the football section last December during POP Warner.
For some reason Disney put us right in the middle of football players rooms. We even received info in our room as though we were part of the group.
We heard the coaches laying out the ground rules for the players when we got there as they had arrived the same morning. One of them was not to be loud.
They followed that rule religiously! We were shocked at how quiet they were. The only time we knew they were there was when we'd walk by them in the morning on the way to the parks.
These kids know how to behave unlike many foreign groups I've come in contact with that don't know the meaning of quiet or personal space.

Thanks! It sure is!!! We stayed there in the fall of '14 and LOVED it! So happy to have scored it on such short notice and at such an awesome rate ($135/night!) Initially, I had to book a one night in a preferred room and the other three in standard at the $135 rate, but kept checking back and ended up finding all 4 nights in a standard available and had my agent make the switch! Can't wait! 23 more days!!

I don't think it is worth it. I've stayed with Pop Warner at the Music resort, and had no problems with them at all.

Thank you. I looked after the first couple of posts and now the POR RR is gone, so I'll keep looking but if this is where we end up, at least it will be a learning experience.
