how bad is memorial day weekend

Hi,
I'm trying to plan a trip at the end of May when the kids get out of school. I thought it might not be too crowded if I took them out for the last day (half day) on May 24th and rushed down there before summer. Then I realized it would be Memorial Day in a few days. Would it be better to wait until after Memorial Day (1st week of June)? It's getting harder and harder to avoid the crowds as my children get older.

It isn't very bad. Just plan ahead (Tour Guide Mike helped us a lot this past Memorial Day weekend) and you'll have a great trip!

We were there this year and were pleasantly surprised. We thought the crowds would be much larger than they actually were. Use FastPasses and plan your day and you should have no problems.

The biggest issue we had this year was the heat. FL was experiencing record temperatures in May, along with most of the country, and it was HOT!!

When I went last year it wasn't that bad. We went to Magic Kingdom and Splash had a 10 Minute wait. So I guess the best thing to do is go to the parks early. Hope that Helps

Glad to see this thread. We are going next May 23-June 2. After being there for July 2-8 last year, I bet we can handle Memorial Day LOL

Yeah, I'm going May 21st-27th. I'll be coming home on the Sunday of memorial day weekend. I figure the crowds should be manageable especially with fastpass and being able to take midday naps at the hotel.

I have been there that week/weekend for about the past 6 years. It has always been good, but this year I followed TGM's suggestions as to what parks/what days/nights. He was right on, including Memorial Day weekend, Sat, Sun and Mon. Crowds were very easily manageable. Also, if you stay away from the EMH parks, that helps a LOT. Enjoy.
