Thinking about another trip. The best time for use would be leaving May 29 and staying 5 nights for the GC deal.
Hubby wants to wait another year, but the GC deal just seems to good to pass up. :lmao:

Also, BOTH kids will have their bdays on June 1st. Is it super cool to celebrate your bday at the World?

So, just tell me, how bad is it? Is it terribly hot, crowded, hard to get ADRs?

Last time we went in April and could not have asked for better. No lines, ever. Weather was great.

Also, if DD2 turns 3 halfway through the trip, how does that work with the tix if we get a room/tix package?

Thanks DISers!:worship:

June is hot, June is crowed. As far as ADR's, you can probably still get some, but not at the biggies like CM, Ohana, CP, LC, etc. etc. Your tickets/package is based on your child's age at time of travel, so you will be fine. Have fun.

We were there in mid-June last year and it was almost unbearably hot....in fact DD was so miserable that she flew home mid-week. This year we will be going May 29 for a week so I hope it is at least a degree or two cooler!!!

We wnet the very begining of june once it was fine.

We have gone the first week of June the past several years. Yes it is hot and it is pretty crowded but managable.

Just take water, take breaks and use fast passes and you will be just fine!

I just booked out first trip for the week of June 12th. We had no problems getting ADR's for Ohana (many still open) for when we wanted. As for the weather, I can't answer that question...yet!

Hope you have a great time, I know we're looking forward to it!

We went the second week of June last year. It was more humid than hot. Crowds were't that bad. Go early, use fast passes and take a break in the afternoon and I bet you will have a great time!

As long as you like being on the surface of the sun, it's fine! :rotfl:

As far as crowds go, many schools up north don't get out until mid or late June so it should be less crowded than later in the summer. Last year was unusually hot in May/June, NOT normal. Look at weather.com for averages.

We went for a week at the end of June last year. It is definitely HOT and definitely CROWDED but if you have a good/solid touring plan it is doable. Arrive at rope drop and following one of the guides/park plans and it will be fine.

Thanks. We would be going May 29-June 3. We live in TX, so we are used to HOT weather, but we also don't spend all day in it like we would at the World.

DS is in Kinder and I just don't want him to miss his last week of school, but that is an option also, putting us there May 22. Not much of a difference?

We went for our honeymoon in June 2003 and as you can see from my siggy we have been a couple times in May as well. It is HOT, but in my mind even though it is hotter then hot, there is still something amazingly magical about being in Disney that you just deal with it. You drink lots of water, eat lots of ice cream and go on lots of water rides. I honestly don't remember crowds, but looking back at the pics from my scrapbooks, it was pretty crowded because a lot of schools are already out for the year.

We have gone the first week of June many times. As others have said, it is hot. It is very manageable heat IMO. You go early when it is cooler, take breaks, swim and you should be fine. We actually just went in late September and it was hotter than any of our June trips. It was in the upper 90's all week. We enjoy water parks, so it was great for us.

We went last year June 2-9 and it was hot but most of the time it was managable. The lst 2 days were abit hotter and I could feel the difference!! I also was able to get ALL the ressies without a problem. Oh but the only one I had a prblem with was Chef Mickey's, I could not get anything for months but kept calling and finally got what I wanted 2 days before we left. Get out early when it is no so hot and take a mid day break when it is the hottest of the day. The crowds were also not much of a problem when we went on the "best" days on our touring plans. When we went to MK on a day that told us not too is was crazy packed so check out the best and worst days to vistit certain parks, it will help with cowds

we were at wdw june 7-14, 2009, and it was unbearably HOT. we're from alabama, so we're used to scorching heat, but this wasn't just heat-it was a relentless, melting heat, combined with 100% humidity. we were miserable. the humidity was 97% by 7:15 am each day-we watched the weather each morning before we left our room. the crowds were pretty bad too-i'd say 8.5 on a scale of 1-10. DH doesn't like crowds at all, so that really put him off. and yes, had we been able to, we would have gone at a different time of year, but DD is in middle school now and they don't excuse for vacations. wait times for TSMM (DHS) were over 40 minutes within 15 minutes of park opening and the fastpasses were also gone. wait times for peter pan's flight (MK) were 55 minutes +. if you have any other option, i would recommend taking it. i can safely say i will NEVER be able to convince my DH to go back again in june, no matter how good the deal is (we got the pay for 4, get 3 free deal).

We find later July to be hotter than June or earlier July.

I also don't really think it's all that crowded. But then I've never gone in October, so I don't know what to compare to :)

We were in Orlando mid-June to July1st several years ago when DH had a conference. It was unbearably humid and hot. All the theme parks we visited were super crowded! Just the heat alone convinced us to pull DD out of kindergarten for a week in May for our first WDW visit this year.

great idea! pull her out while you can! :thumbsup2 september is a good time to go as well. that's when we always used to go. i hear october is good too.

This past trip I've gone the first week in June. It was hot, yes, but nothing more than the usual summer heat. It was usually about a solid 90 degrees the whole week. I'm from NJ, and that's usually our summer temp, so it's not so bad.

Now, one of my other trips, I went in July....NEVER AGAIN! :headache:
My dad wasn't in the best of health at the time (still isn't), and so because of that July trip of heat, humidity, and crowds in full force, he has vowed never to go to WDW again. He has no desire to. :scared1:

We keep telling him it's not that bad in June, and that there's a LOT of air conditioned rooms that he can go in, but he just insists on staying home because of that trip. :guilty:

Anyways, to answer your question, June is alright. Drink water and find shade when you can, and any chance you can get to be in air conditioned rooms without deferring from your plans, go for it. Every little bit helps. The crowds aren't that bad, because the north of the country still has school till the end of June, while some schools from the south are already out. We didn't get overwhelmed with people there, and there were 7 of us (including an infant), so it should be okay.

Just remember to always keep a poncho with you, because you never know with Orlando. ;)
