How bad ARE the crowds and heat in August?

We are going down for Labor Day, a first for us as we usually go Nov/Dec. We are taking our 4 y/o with us so an afternoon swim/nap will defintely be in the works for all of us not just her. :thumbsup2 I am hoping it won't be to crowded, we figure most, if not all, schools will be in session by then. Hope you enjoy your vacation as much as we plan on enjoying ours!! :goodvibes

For the last 3 years we have gone w/our two boys in Sept and the weather has been perfect! Hot enough that you look foward to swimming but nothing more than Jersey summer hot. This year we are going the last week of Oct-1st week of Nov what kind of weather can I expect? Can we still wear sleaveless shirts and shorts? Is everyone swimming? I'm kind of freaking out that I've made a mistake in choosing different weeks for us this year.:confused3

We went ffor DD's birthday (Aug 22) in 2007 and found that we really like going that time of year. Yes, it is hot but that never bothers my crew even though we're northerners. Michigan summers get plenty hot & humid in August too so it wasn't a huge adustment, and at least in FL everything is air conditioned. Can't say that about home! LOL

The crowds weren't all that bad either. Definitely heavy enough that you'd want to FastPass the headliners but not what I'd consider crowded overall. For the most part we ran into 40-50 min standby waits on the mountains, Test Track, Mission Space, etc. in mid-afternoon with 10-20 min waits early and late in the days.

Thanks everyone for your responses!!:thumbsup2
We are from Michigan also and since we have 6 months of winter, I personally could use a good dose of tropical heat. My oldest son is a bit of a complainer, but if he has a steady supply of fluids to drink, he is bearable:rolleyes: . So I will get the misting fans for sure with plenty of extra batteries and a mini screwdriver kit. And I would probably get some quality, made-to-last ponchos instead of stocking up on a bunch of cheap ones. This really is going to be a fun trip b/c even though my youngest DS is only going to be 4.25, he is already 45 in tall and very much the daredevil that he WAS NOT in May of 07, the last time we went. And of course my oldest DS is your average 12 yo, the faster, bigger, crazier, the better :woohoo:
