How are you spending the "extra" cheap gas is creating?

Filling the gas tank is cheaper than it has been in years. What are you doing with the savings?

Putting the extra in my Vanguard funds . I don't drive much anyway but I am hoping they will stay low for my planned road trip in a couple months.

It's just been absorbed by other needed expenses...new roof for our home, adding ds17 to auto insurance, buying same ds a car... ....paying oldest ds taxes, never ends just the names change

I'm spending it!

I use my CC when I purchase gas for the extra points and convenience (we pump our own in PA). So, in a way I'm actually missing out on those points! LOL

But in all seriousness, the gas money, grocery money and other weekly expenditures are all on one line on my budget. When gas prices rose through the roof, I drove less and economized on groceries. With gas prices falling, I can ease up on the purse strings in the grocery store and buy more organic produce and the environmentally kind products that I had sacrificed previously.

Yes gas is way cheaper but not getting much overtime. I would rather have a good economy and high gas prices.

No extra money here - our health care went up much more than our gas went down, not to mention groceries and utilities all went up as well. And we are so "lucky" to have a new governor who is raising taxes all over the place so no savings for us.

I'm in Canada and I'm spending the extra on the staggering rise in grocery costs. No savings here unfortunately, though it is nice to see one category of the budget go down while others go up up up.

it has been such a gradual change we really dont notice it.

We put everything on an AMEX for points and pay it off each month. Never really notice the extra $20 or $40.

We are driving to WDW next month. 2,400 miles round trip. $300 in gas is now $175. that will be nice. But I dont specifically say that extra $125 can be spent on "X"

We don't feel it either. DH's work is tied to the O&G industry, so his raises and bonuses have been smaller the last year or so.

Haven't noticed much of a difference. I only spent $600 on gas last year so the savings is not really adding up for our family.

We don't spend much on gas. I fill up maybe once a month. Twice a month for my husband. We don't really notice it. Discover and Chase HAD to do the 5% back when gas is at it's cheapest in what, 7 years?

Don't get used to it. On the noon news they reported that OPEC is putting a freeze on production to get prices back up.

Actually the deal isn't sealed and Iran is unlikely to cooperate. OPEC does not have the power it used to. Right now WTI oil is at $29/barrel.

Also in Canada, our groceries are way more expensive, and if we want to travel anywhere in the US it is costing us way more as our dollar is currently week.

Dh gets a car allowance so with lower gas prices, they just lower his allowance.

actually wish the price of oil would go back up. lower crude is wreaking havoc with the stock market and my investments are down. I prefer for my investments to do well than lower gas prices.

I swear I have Murphy's luck, lol when it seems I get ahead of the curve some thing breaks or an unexpected bill pops up.
