How Are You At Keeping House?

Jerry Seinfeld has a comedy routine in which he talks about gays and cleaning house. It is not vicious, but he does mention bring the topic up. I was just thinking about it.

How are the people here at keeping house? I am not very good. I would probably be even worse if I owned my residence. As a tenant, I have a certain respect for what is not mine. Otherwise I would feel like someone who borrowed your car, ran it out of fuel, and then refused to replace that fuel.

It's clean when we've got company, but don't look in any closets or under any beds! :rotfl2:

Not gay -- so pls consider the source.

We live like Attilla the Hun. If I can look at a housekeeping issue and honestly tell myself that it poses no threat to life or the environment, it will go unattended.

We have clutter, but it's mostly Corey's due to her constant travel schedule and affinity for cool clothes. I don't even want to think about how many t-shirts the woman owns. :rolleyes1

The other major clutter contribution comes from our pets. It's impossible to have as many pets as we have and not have a bunch of pet stuff: beds, toys, clothes, leashes, collars, crates, food bins, litter pans, potty pads, and more. :sad2:

When company comes, the common areas of the house are completely **** and span, however, as someone said above, don't open the closet doors, the master bedroom door, or the door to Corey's office because OMG! :scared:

what he said.

Though - since I was home for the past couple of weeks due to surgery - I started really cleaning and removing a lot of the "clutter". Chris is definitely his Mother's son! There are piles and piles of papers / mail / coupons etc - it drives me up a wall. I even created a file drawer for him but he has never used it. So I basically removed all the clutter (I now have counter tops!) and hid most of it.

Now when he comes home and puts papers and his keys / pone on the counter I'm right behind him putting them out of sight LOL. SO the kitchen and dining area of our kitchen is clean.

We're having company tonight so it's off to straighten up the living room, dining room and the spare / Barney's room.

Barney also has about 436 toys :scared1: that are litterally all over the place!

Stella's got 435 toys and a toy box.
Guess I better go get her one more toy.

I'm a mad woman...

My house always has to look fabulous. :teeth:

My house is actually pretty spotless. My tiny bedroom on the other hand (which is also an office, studio and apparently a storage unit for my roommate so his half of the house doesn't have to be messy) is really really really really really really really really not clean.

Really.

Very organized and clean. Unless I am on the road, then I am sure he lives in a different environment until the night before I get home.

When preparing for the arrival of company it has been described as the flight of the bumble bee as I make sure every this is its place. Insert music here

I am a mad woman, but back to the question at hand...

I have a sign on my apartment door that says "we both can't look perfect ~ it's me or the house". :lmao:

My wife and I are BOTH fanatics about the house! She's the organizer, and I'm the cleaner...works for us! You can look under our beds, in closests...everything is where is should be and clean. My mom told me years ago..."You never know when unexpected house-guests will show up". I've lived in fear ever since!:rotfl:
