"How are we gonna stay busy for 6 days?"

I'm hopefully going back to Disney at the end of August (just gotta make sure timing works out) and my boyfriend suggested that he come with me.

He has NEVER been to Disney before :faint:

He told me to just plan the whole thing (he's a food person so I'll let him help pick ADR's) :woohoo:

So I sent him a quick email of plans and a hotel/park ticket/airfair estimate (5 nights/6 days) and reminding him it's a busy vacation with a ton of walking (you know the warnings touring with a Disney lover)

His response: "Sounds great but are we spending the whole time at Disney? How are we going to stay busy for 6 days???" :rotfl2:

Obviously my new man needs a new education :rolleyes1

Actually I was about to ask this question LOL. I'll hopefully be going end of August too with a friend and will be staying 6 nights/7 days and get the 8 day park hopper. That sounds like a lot of days for parks. I figure with the hopper, we can do stuff we didn't get to do later on?

Yikes, sounds like you should dump him and move on while your still young :thumbsup2 :wizard: :grouphug:

The true question should be "How will we fit in everything in 6 days?" That's
how long my trips normally are and there is always stuff that I think "I wish we had done this, and this, and this"

blue_eyes5212, Usually I go for a week and still dont do everything but I don't have the time or the money to go for two more days (which is fine) considering I was in Disney in January.

I dont think he fully appreciates what 4 parks means ;) - I shocked him with the fact that Disney is 47 square miles of wonderfulness (I know it's not all used land but he can mull over that number for a bit).

dpuck1998- He's a really great guy and is willing to go with me so the magic might just be able to sweep him away. :wizard: When I asked if he was sure about going because I certainly don't want to drag anyone along, he said "I want to share what makes you so happy" His birthday is soon after we get back so I'm definitely celebrating his birthday there (ohyea birthday pin and mouse ears on my manly man! :teeth: Is that evil?? :rotfl: )

Show him a Disney Vacation Planning DVD, and if that doesn't suffice, then tell him that he'll find out soon enough how to keep busy, he'll laugh about asking that question :rotfl:

We're going for 10 days and this is my sister's first trip. I'm worried that we won't be able to fit everything in that I want her to see!! :rotfl:

I have been to WDW twice. One trip was ten days and one was eight. Both were during off season when the crowds were low. We left both times with a list of things that we didn't get to do and want to make sure we do next time. We are going at Christmas for two full weeks. Factoring in the very large crowds that time of year and all of the additional holiday activities, we know we won't get to do everything. We will just try to do them on the next trip.

If you stay on property, you can get "Free Dining". Free Dining starts August 13. If you do, start calling for Advanced Dining Reservations, "ADR's."

I just took my sister and her son on their first trip- at first she was saying "We can probably do everything in two days, right?" By the end of the trip, it was "On our next trip, let's do two weeks!"

The longest trip we have had was 2 weeks at Christmas and there was a lot of things we didn't get to. We're not park commandos, we do things at our own pace and we like to take days off to shop at DTD or check out a resort we've never been to or go to FW for the day (pony rides, petting farm, fishing, Hoop Dee Doo, campfire). The options are endless!!! :teeth:

Do you know I still have not been to Mickey's Philharmagic??!!!
DH & DD have been, but not me and DS!!! See, somethings ya just never get to no matter how much time one has.
I gotta put down Philhar. on my list of must do's!!!! :teeth:

You would be amazed at how LARGE WDW is and how much there is to do. You may find that you run out of time before you run out of things to do! Have fun!

LOL!!! 6 days......I am with you on this....My longest trip to WDW was 11 days, and still ran out of time. A week is nothing, you won't run out of things to do, if you do, call me! :rotfl2:

My advice:

Dump him and go after one of the Frenchmen in Epcot. :thumbsup2 Just stay away from Italy, the Italians are mine. :teeth:

I'm kidding! :rotfl: He probably doesn't have any idea how huge WDW is. I remember when I went for the first time, I was amazed at how large WDW was and all of the different things to do. Maybe give him some info on all of the parks, entertainment, Downtown Disney, etc and hopefully he'll understand. :teeth:

Now, now, give the poor lad a chance. There was once a time when each and every one of you didn't know the wonders of Disney. Let the OP educate him and have the true joy of turning him on to Pixie Dust....

BTW, we own in the DVC, make a trip a two per year and NEVER get everything done we hope to....

When I took my family a couple of years ago my DB said "Oh don't get loads of tickets for me, one day will be enough to see everything" :lmao:

Sounds just like my dh, well, the way he used to be!!! He had the exact same notion until he got there. Now, he has turned into a once a year guy. And we still find something new and different to do or see each trip.
The thing about the end of August is it's going to be very hot/humid. Incredible humidity. It can really tire you out. So, you won't want to be on the go in the parks all day. You are going to want to go early in the morning, leave and go back to your resort around mid-day and have a swim, some lunch and relax for a bit. Then head back to the parks late afternoon.
Just be sure to put that relaxation time in there, drink a ton of water...he will be surprised at how busy he is and that there will have to be another trip in the works to see/do the stuff there wasn't time to do on this trip!!!

This question reminds me of our Disney Cruises. We took 2 cruises, a 4 night and a 7 night and to this day we have not seen everything there was to see on the Magic and Wonder! We never got to the ESPN Club or Palo's. We've been to WDW 13 times and have yet to see everything in the World. By reading these boards I discover something new each and every time! Have fun and take pictures of how tired he is at the end of each day... :sunny:

LOL! When he needs a vacation after his Disney Vacation he'll know.
