Hi-
We go to Disney World once a year but we've never been to the Earl of Sandwich mostly because my husband isn't very fond of sandwiches. This trip DH will be staying at home and it will be my 20 year-old son and myself so we're definitely going!!
I was looking over the menu a little while ago trying to decide what delicious sandwich to try when I saw the side items listed. Has anyone tried the macaroni salad, potato salad, coleslaw, etc. If so, how were they?
Also, what is included when using a CS dining credit? Is it a sandwich, dessert and drink? Can you sub chips or something else for the dessert?

Thanks so much for any info for this EOS newbie!! :thumbsup2

I've never had the sides, but the sandwiches are AWESOME. This is actually one of our favorite places to eat at Disney! You get a sandwich, dessert and drink, and yes, I have been able to substitute a bag of chips instead of the dessert.

I know I didn't answer your whole question, but I hope that helps!

The cole slaw I had was fantastic...a mayo based dressing that was a little sweet and a little vinegary. It was really really fresh, not too much dressing, and just delicious!

We had the potato salad on one of our previous visits and it was very good. I don't know about the credit though because at that time we didn't use the dining plan. Have a fun trip.:goodvibes

One CS credit is a drink, sandwich/salad, and a dessert. We have substituted chips, cole slaw, and mac salad for the dessert before.

I have tried the pasta salad it was good the Tomato Soup was REALLY good and my kids love their brownies

Don't know about the CS thing as I never did DDP BUT The sides are a party:
in your mouth....the potato salad (& I am famous for mine) the cole slaw,
the bread pudding.the soups..I have been known to drive to DTD just to go to Earl's

Your DH doesn't know what he has missed :sad2: My personal fave for sandwiches The Hawaiian BBQ can make U faint !

I can't recall what sides we got but I know we really liked everything we ate and will return. The one exception was the Earl Grey Lemonade....yuck yuck yuck. I enjoy lemonade and am a daily tea drinker (hot tea) and rarely sweeten it but that stuff was bitter and nasty.

We have tried the potato salad and the pasta salad! Both were very good!

I like to enjoy the whole sandwich .....but have had potato salad and the macaroni salad. Also the soups are delicious.....for dessert we had the chocolate pudding and whipped topping.....we were STUFFED......we would rather just have the sandwich next time and a cold drink......

Thanks so much for all the replies!!! I can't wait to go. Everything you described sounds delicious. My son will love the sandwiches and I will have a very hard time deciding. Might just have to go more than once during our 9 night stay to make sure we try lots of different things!!! ;)

Thanks again!!

We always go more than once, my goal is to try everything on their menu! :lovestruc

I have had the Cole Slaw and the Potato Salad. Both are really good. The Sandwhiches are amazing.

I can already tell you that I will never decide on a sandwich!! Can't wait to give it a try. Only 57 more days!! :cool1:

Thanks again for the replies!!

If I'm remembering correctly the "dessert" could be anything that was under $2.50. So, the side orders would qualify. I haven't tried them though. We usually get the cookies, brownies, chips, fresh fruit or parfait.

We had the dining plan and we were told we could get a sandwich, a side/dessert/chips and a drink. We got chips. They were yummy!

I'm not a salad eater but my wife really enjoys the Cobb salad there. She says it is a good as the one at the Brown Derby.

We were there in October and I ate there twice. It was sooo yummy :cloud9: I had the tomato soup one time and a sandwich the next time. I love Earl! It is definitely a must do on all of our trips now.
