I've been working on plans for our trip the week of Labor Day, which (excluding Labor Day Weekend) consists of mostly 1 to 3 crowd level days. I'm planning on only doing a morning/early afternoon at AK without using FP+ and saving them for a 2nd park that evening.
What I can't decide is whether to go to AK on an AM EMH day when it opens at 8 instead of 9, or to avoid the park that day and go on a less-crowded day that doesn't have EMH (as Josh at EasyWDW and other sites recommend). In general, I tend to follow the avoid-parks-with-EMH philosophy to take advantage of shorter lines at non-EMH parks.
The main difficulty with AK is trying to fit all the rides we want to do around the three main shows that all have set times, and still finishing by 2:30-3. Going when the park opens at 8 helps alleviate that problem, but I hope that's not at the expense of having to wait much longer in lines the rest of the day (without being able to use FP+).
Thoughts?
