This weekend that we have planned is before most public schools get out for Xmas break-- anyone got any ideas? I have received free 2-day passes but they have to be used by December 31st-- I am a Florida resident so a weekend or long weekend trip is usually what we do anyway-- but we've never been in December? Is the weekend of the 10th terribly crowded? Any info is appreciated--- if that is not a slow weekend-- do you have suggesiton for a lower crowd weekend before the end of the year? thanks--::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I dont know, but we're there for the same weekend. Whether its crowded or not I am going to have a blast!

have fun$%@!

That's the weekend we were there last year!! :)

It was GORGEOUS! However, it coincided with the FILMING of the Christmas Parade and Regis and Kelly were in Magic Kingdom. The place was SWAMPED and walkways were blocked for camera crews and security. Not a fun place that day. However, that was JUST Magic Kingdom and I don't know what day they're filming this year. People lining the streets just for a chance to possibly be shown in a crowd shot on Christmas day! Oy! LOL

Anyway - I'd probably try to hang out at Epcot or MGM, personally, in the early parts of the day. Then, if you can, get tickets for the Very Merry Christmas Party in the evening. That way you can head over to Magic Kingdom during the later part of the afternoon once filming has wrapped up and still have the park to play in that night. :)

The crowds were certainly not *bad* - typically we were able to either get a fast pass for the next hour or walk right on. But, the filming day was pretty crowded.

Hope that helps!

Remember that this yr Mousefest will be going on that week. Lots of folks from the differnet Disney boards will be gathering at that time, but I do not think it will add an enormous amount to the overall park attendance. I am going for the long weekend and expect it to be festive but not overly crowded.

The Parks hold many, many comfortably...although I don't think it will be walk on like some seasons, but my experienced guess is that waits might be 10 or 15 mins at peek times.

How's the weather that time of year? Cool mornings and evenings with low 70's midday?

I think it will be a fun time!

We'll be there also!! We were there the first weekends in 2001 and 2002 and the crowds weren't bad. Yes, they were taping the Christmas parade but the other parks were not real busy. We stayed clear away from MK those years on that day. Although both years it was the first weekend, so I'm not sure which weekend they'll be taping this year?

Actually I'm thinking about going on that crazy day this time because I know dd would think it would be so neat to watch it on tv knowing she was there when they taped it!

The weather varied...

Mostly, we wore a t-shirt and capris/jeans with a sweatshirt over it in the morning...then took off the sweatshirt in the afternoon sun...then put it back on at night. (Or we'd wear a long sleeved shirt that the sleeves could push up a bit on the arm if we got warm) :)

The night we went to MVMCP was COLD - we needed hats and mittens and the whole nine yards (and we're from the Midwest). The locals said it was impossible to find hats and mittens in the stores because everyone freaked that it was that cold! :)

But, the majority of the time it was VERY nice and VERY comfortable. Still really sunny and could potentially be hot in the sun, but really in lines and what not, you're covered by shade and it's a little chilly.

Thanks, 05ChristmasSurprise!|

Sounds like the weather we've had when we've gone in early January and February.

We were freezing last Feb becasue we did not bring cloves - all the CM were bundled up! They did tell us a few places where we could find mittens and hats, so maybe they started putting thsoe out during cold months. Nothing great and not warm. but better than bare hands!

I get cold easily - born in Chicago, live in Boston, but grew up mostly in Palm Tree country. I am cold if the temp drops below 70! I'll go prepared this time!
Thanka again!
