How are the crowds at the water parks now that they are both open?

The free waterpark entry on arrival day resulted in the it reaching capacity back in April and people turned away. I’m wondering, with both water parks open, are the waterparks still reaching capacity? And are the lines miserably long in the afternoon? TIA!

People were not turned away if they arrived via Disney transportation. The parking lots, however, did fill to capacity and if you drove in, you were turned away. We won’t be there til the end of August so can’t answer how busy it’s been with both open.

There were days that hotel guests were turned away at entry, not at parking, but that was before both water parks were open.

For example:

But my question is more general. How are crowds at the waterparks now that both are open? Would love to hear from those who have been there in the past few weeks when Disney opened up both BB and TL. And curious to find out if they are both equally full.

We were just at TL on Friday and didn't feel it was too crowded. We waited maybe 10 minutes for most of the slides. Miss Adventure Falls might have been slightly longer. We had no issues finding chairs and no problem with food lines being long or having to wait in the changing areas/bathrooms. I wish they were keeping this perk into 2026!

Thank you! That sounds very promising!

When did you arrive at TL?

We hit up TL on 5/28 and it was decently busy when we arrived around 11-ish (we had breakfast at Cake Bake after checking out of BWI). Crowds definitely increased as the day went on though, I assume from people getting in after flying or driving down as opposed to split stay guests like us. We were very glad to have booked an umbrella, though I still saw chairs available. Lots of people in the lazy river but it wasn't like, impassable and we had no issues getting the good floaties (the "chair" kind that let you sit, as opposed to the donuts). We are not really slide people but Miss Adventure Falls was a 15 min wait at one point, only because it had been down for a while. Even so, overall it still wasn't as bad as it was at BB when it was the only park open. I think having the two parks open is dispersing crowds better.

One thing I noticed about that week in general vs. many previous Memorial Day weeks is that there was next to no drop off in crowd levels anywhere the way there usually is. Usually there's a mass exodus on the holiday itself due to people going back to work/school and the rest of the week is pretty quiet until the following weekend, but that wasn't the case this year. I think it was probably due to people coming down for Epic and then coming to WDW.

kind off topic, but I was checking the disney app and the wait times for most rides are actually not bad? Mid June is usually super busy because it is spring break for the entire country, but wait times are looking good? what gives?

If you’re talking about the 4 main parks (I can’t find the wait times for the water parks), I like to cross reference them with the weather. There’s a lot of rain in the May-September summer time frame and it often drives people away, at least for a bit.

Edit to add: no rain right now, but it’s 92 and feels like 100, so many may be taking a break…

Clarifying for others, OP is talking about wait times in the 4 parks. Wait times for the water park attractions are not listed in the app.
