I know that kids in Florida go back to school on the 22nd, but how would the crowds be tourist wise.

Thank you for asking this, I was about to do the same. I was at WDW over Labor Day one year and Labor Day itself was extremely busy with locals, but the days before it were great.

They are usually very good not mid Sept-October good but good. Remember, at that point it's value season which traditionally means shorter lines. As per touringplans.com they are any where 4-7 out of 10. Today is a 9 out of 10.

late august is when the crowds start to die down but sept. is awesome last time we went in sept it was dead like five min wait time for everything

I think it is a perfect time of year to go - weather is nice, lots of outdoor dining, and short line. Plus good prices on rooms.

We were there last year the last week of August and the crowd levels were pretty good. Not as good as September, but much much better than June and July. We stick with the "get to the parks at RD, take a mid-day break at the resort and go back to the park at night" philosophy though because it is HOT in the middle of the day. We will be there in 13 days!

I agree. We are end of Augusters ourselves and have found low crowd levels. I'm hoping this year maybe even lower crowds since Free Dining was spread throughout the whole year as opposed to only August - October. I think that was the big draw to August in years past (that's why we started going then).

We also do the park open and mid-day break either at the Pop pool or one of the water parks. then we do dinner and with two small ones, normally just went back to the hotel. Last year DD7 wanted to do some night swimming while DD2 wanted to pass out. This year DD8 is up to park playing after dinner and DD3 doesn't fall asleep until 9:30 most nights so she may be able to hang. We'll see.

We have 12 days of waiting left. Enjoy your trip luvdisney!
