Any info. on where to stay across the park that is reasonable, where to purchase tickets, hours of operation? I have been to DL once, and DCA once as well, but it was a few years back, so any info. would be greatly appreciated. Will there be fireworks at night at DL during that time? TIA!

Regarding crowds, as its not during any holiday breaks and is directly after christmas, the crowds should be pretty reasonable.

This is one of my favorite times to visit :) You can stay at many places across the street on Harbor and get tickets at the Disneyland website.

It's been about 7 years, but we stayed the first week of Feb and it was pretty easy going except on Friday. But I think the norm is that Friday is always a lot busier than the rest of the weekdays.

Likely entertainment mostly on weekends. See

We usually buy tix from Ares travel. In fact I just did that yesterday!

As for info on where to stay, see these threads:

I think in general that time period should be fairly reasonable in terms of crowds. DLR will likely be on the "off season" schedule, which means short(er) hours and reduced entertainment (e.g., Fantasmic, fireworks, Mad T) only the weekends.

Someone mentioned something called the NAMM Conference during the end of January this year. I have no idea how it impacted crowds, but they're slated to be at the Anaheim Convention Center again next year (1/22-25/2015).

There was also a report that Superbowl Sunday was very crowded in 2014 (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3230845). I have no idea if that was unique to 2014 and would likely repeat in 2015 or not.

Overall, I think that you'll have fairly low crowds on the weekdays. I would expect to see an uptick on the weekends. This is pretty much true of any time (outside of the holiday/seasonal seasons).

We went our first time the first week of February and LOVED it. Yes, the park hours were short and we did get forced back to the hotel one night by some windy & rainy weather but our kids were younger then (3 and 7) and we LOVED walking on to the rides. The longest lineup we saw was maybe 30 min for SM during the weekend. It was honestly the best time in my opinion. I know some don't mind it busy but I feel it's such a waste to spend so much time standing in a line. I'd rather have a shorter day but get way more rides in, especially with little ones. I also prefer the cooler weather, being a full blood Canadian and all :goodvibes
