How are the crowds 4th of July?

DH and I went during for our honeymoon in 2005 and it just so happened to be the week during the 4th of July. YES, they were ALOT of people. The parks were extremely crowded and it was incredibly hot. Of course, it was our first Disney trip and we had just gotten married a few days before, so I was too excited to care.

Yes, it will be very very very very crowded. Get to the park of your choice by 10 AM, or you may be denied entry to that park when it fills up.

On the plus side - the fireworks at MK that evening will be something that you will never forget. They're awesome! :thumbsup2

Yes, the crowds will be fierce. And it will be hot. But the atmosphere is undoubtedly party-like and the fireworks are fabulous!:thumbsup2

We will be there from June 28 - July 12. The dates are also out of our hands.

Is it crowded the week before and after July 4th too? I have read a few posts about the crowds on the 4th and the few days before or after but I can't find anything that mentions the time a little further out.

Hi,

Those are the three busiest weeks of the busy Summer season.

But, the few days surrounding July 4 will be the absolute busiest of that timeframe.

Since it is your last day there, you will hopefully have already done most of what you want to see, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the crowd! We went to MGM Studios (aka Hollywood now) for New Year's Eve and I really got a thrill by the crowd...the energy level was amazing! We had a 2 y/o with us and I was worried, but everything was "magical" as usual! :)

Well that's just peachy.....not that it is a surprise though. I've been there in July before, around July 9th, which I don't recall being that bad. We plan this year to either hang around the pool or do some shopping on the 3rd - 5th. No theme parks on that weekend.

Years ago, we always went the week of July 4 and, yes, it was always crowded. We're finally going back after a 12-year absence and we're going the week of July 4. It will be hot, crowded, aggravating ... and wonderful! I think the EPCOT celebration is the best and I can't wait to get there again.

OH YEA!! :thumbsup2 It is super crowded! We were there several years ago for the 4th, and it was elbow to elbow walking crowded! But the fireworks are AMAZING!
As a matter of fact, we will also be there this year for the 4th. I KNOW it is going to be beyond crowded, but it is the only time my business can close for a friday and saturday and that is an oppurtune time to go to WDW. :wizard: All i can say is .....WATCH OUT, IM COMING THRU!!! lol:lmao:

Enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

We go nearly every 4th of July. That's the week everyone where I work is off. Just know it will be crowded and HOT! Plan accordingly. You will have a great time. If it gets overwhelming take a break. We go back to the resort to rest mid day. Check out other resorts you would like to stay at. Have fun!!!
We can't wait. 52 days

This is our first time going for the 4th of july. does anybody the best place to watch the fireworks or if the prices for the wishes cruise our different on the 4th? We plan to eat at the Maya Grill and not go to any park that.

Heading out july 6-13th... trying my best to plan my parks for the worst case scenarios and to have a 'plan". I attack WDW like a war game! lol.. My Dis friend was there during this time last year and she said it was GOD awful HOT but she thought the crowds were doable. She was just back last weekend April 25-28 and thought it was worse then. I'm hoping to just have fun and do our best getting to each park! :)

We always go either the 2nd or 3rd week of July. This year due to work issues and expiring APs we may have to start our vacation on July 4th.

Will the crowds be way worse than normal?????

What about the Brazillian tour groups? Do they come that early?

Thanks!

We went to DW the end of June (28?) to July 3rd in 96
We utilized the AM EMH each day and got so much done.
I felt that going to DW right after school ends and before the July 4th holiday worked out perfectly.

We also went for a week beging July 6th in 97

The crowd the week after July 4th was a lot worse .... it fell right within the Winter holiday for vacationers from South America. I will never go at this time ever again.

Is it crowded??? WICKED crowded! But its still very doable!
We haven't felt like "OMG! We will never come again at this time!" In fact,we love the celebration so much,we're going back again this year!!!! Everything is decorated in red, white and blue.
American pride EVERYWHERE!!!! We LOVE it!!!

C'mon 52 days!!!!:goofy:

That sounds great to me! I'm figuring on being at the parks at rope drop and doing all I can with fastpass etc... basically going until I can't "go" no more! lol.. oh and nice long pool breaks mid day! :cool1:
