After the shuttle drops us off at the resort (DVC cabin) how do we get milk and breakfast supplies? Do we have to take a bus or is the store walkable? I’m used to staying at WDW resorts where the general stores are on the first floor of the hotel, so this is all new to me!
Also, after check in, how do we get our luggage to our cabin? Thanks in advance!!

It's like any Disney resort for sundries.

The trading posts at FW have limited, small quantity grocery items for basic meal needs which are pricey.

Or you can have a grocery delivery service drop an order that you provide online to the Fort Wilderness lobby (checkin) area as they do at any other WDW resort (the lobby area can handle refridgerated items, etc.).

All the other resorts work for grocery deliveries the same way the Fort does.

PS - no idea how luggage delivery works for cabins. We drive in with our bags so I am no help there. But again, the other WDW resorts all generally follow the Fort practices.

Thank - all I really need is a little milk for my cereal which I pack along. How long is the walk from DVC cabins to the trading post?

Your walk to the Meadows Trading Post should easily be under 10 minutes, or you could catch a bus from the bus stop at the front entrance to your cabin loop. Depending on which way you catch the bus it could take longer than your walk besides its a nice walk. Have fun

There are buses at the campground they go all the way around. If you're staying in one of the cabins, unless you're really into walking, it would probably be better to take a bus. I rented the golf cart.
They have a store at the settlement end of the campground. But last year time, I just ordered from one of the stores that delivers.

I have the same question about getting to the cabin. What I was told was that if you have a golf cart it will be waiting at the outpost or you can take a bus. I find the idea of riding buses to be repellent seeing as I work in school and have developed an aversion to buses.

In the case of the Meadow Trading Post, I would recommend taking the Disney bus in this case.

Thanks - a ten minute walk is fine! So you pick up your golf cart where you check in after the airport shuttle drops you off?
