Is there anyone out there like me who wishes they didn't attend their prom? Mine was a horror from start to finish. I get sick just thinking about it now. So come on, if your prom was a bust, feel free to vent. Misery loves company. :D

When I was a junior, my dad 'volunteered' me to go to the senior prom with the boss' son. To say that he was a geek would be insulting to the true geeks of the world!!! He was 45 minutes late to pick me up... he forgot to get flowers.... he forgot to get a cumberbund so he was wearing a brown belt with his tux (can you just picture it? LOL!) When he arrived, his car was so filthy dirty that my mom wouldn't let me get in until she ran into the house and got sheets to cover the front seat. At the dance, he went to help the AV club set up and left me alone for about an hour and a half. When he did come back, he told me he didn't dance because he 'didn't really like music." We sat next to each other, completely silent, for another hour before I finally got up the nerve to say that I wanted to leave. Whatever happens for the rest of our lives, my Dad will still owe me for that one! :teeth:

I wanted to, but went out with my bf boyfriend that night (she knew) we dated for a while (she went to the prom with someone else. She and I and her husband and mine are all best friends!

She went with Elliot the radio personality. :)

my prom was so ghetto. all the fun was afterprom which i could have done without subjecting myself to the actual prom (and dropping the $$ for it).

I went to prom with Elliot Segal who does radio in DC now, I think. He was also in New York. Supposed to be famous or sumpin'.

Anyway, we were good friends in high school. We got in trouble for something one time and he had matching shirts made for us that said, "YOU BLEW IT!" because that's what, I think, the newspaper sponsor told us once. hehee Not that I would wear anything like that now!

Whew, it's late. These are mundane details of my life that the world doesn't need to know!

OMG!!!! You are adorable!!!!!

I think MAUVE(???) is really your color.:)

Spago-was it the Plaza? Ours was at the Ritz. There's money I'll never see again.:rolleyes:

All the hair products I could've bought... :):)

ours was actually on south shore of nassau - "the sands." place sucked. it was supposedly on the beach, but we weren't. didn't see the ocean or the beach at ALL that night. sheesh. it felt like a bar mitzvah.

OH duh...why do I keep thinking you went to Science?
Well, rolleyes on me...but bar mitzvahs can be fun.:teeth:

I had a great time after my prom, but as for the prom itself...coulda done without it. Actually the prom I went to was my Junior year...I blew off the senior year one and just went out with some friends.

I don't have particularly good or bad memories of my prom. I'm so old, I actually have very vague, sketchy memories of my prom. :teeth:

I dated my future husband throughout high school, until he went off to college and we broke up for a couple of years. So I went to the prom with this other guy, who was kind of a jerk. I spent a good deal of the prom in the bathroom smoking pot, if I remember correctly. Long ago and far away, thank God.

JTB, I love Eliiott in the Morning! How cool that you went to the Prom with him! :)

My prom had a potential nightmare that turned out OK. My family owned a large, customized van that contained 6 captain's chairs, so my date and I provided the transportation to and from the prom for 2 other couples who were good friends of ours. About halfway through the prom, I realized I had locked my keys in the van! I had just managed to strand 6 people at the prom!

I was standing in the parking lot, trying to figure out what to do when a group of guys from my school approached me. These were not the kind of guys I hung around with. These were the trouble makers, the kids who got in fights, broke the law, etc.. We knew who each other were, but we did not trust each other. Heck, we didn't even like each other.

I must have looked upset, becuase one of them asked me what was wrong. I was standing there thinking they were going to rob me or something, but I told them about my problem. The Kid said "no problem" and then 2 or 3 of them walked up to my van and looked at the door for a minute. I still don't know what they did, but in under two minutes, they had unlocked the van! The same kid then handed me my car keys and said "Here, enjoy the prom". I tried to thank him but he just said "It's cool" and they walked away.

We never spoke again after that, but I will always remember the night that a bunch of guys who probably trusted me as little as I trusted them took the time out to help me. Lessons learned.

My Junior Prom was a nightmare!! I ended up on a date with not only my boyfriend but his best friend as well! We went to dinner with a group of people when my boyfriend ordered a filet mignon wrapped in bacon(okay, read it like it is written, not pronounced the way it is supposed to be pronounced). I ended up spending the evening between two guys who spoke to each other more than they spoke to me. The band that was booked never showed up and the place that our prom was held had to be evacuated later in the evening when someone set off a smoke bomb in the men's restroom. When we got into my boyfriends car to leave, the engine was dead and I ended up calling my father to come pick me up.
