This is another dinner recommended by a friend from home.

Is it a good value? How easy is it to get to/from Port Orleans Riverside using Disney transportation?

Hi,

I can't help on the transportation part, but we ate here for the first time this past August.

I absolutely loved it!! I thought the food was excellent and the choices were great. The waiter we had was also excellent. We are definately planning on returning this June!!

I like it.:D
There are lots of ways to get there. I would probably take a bus to epcot then walk over to the International Gateway. I would then probably catch a cab back to POR after dinner ( or stroll the Epcot area if it is still open).
You could go to any theme park then switch to a BC bus. Going home you would probably need to take a DTD bus from the BC then switch to a POR bus.
A cab is the best way back to POR. It is about $7 bucks. I know there were plenty of times I had the energy to get to a hotel, but coming home I was tired and just wanted to get there quickly so the cab was our best option.
Hope this is not too confusing.

We enjoyed it very much...

When we went from POFQ we took the bus to MGM and then the boat from MGM to the Yacht and Beach club.

If MGM is open and you want to cut down on the walking this was a nice ride... I love the Friendships...

Great food, good service... lots of variety.

Now, as to the transporation between resorts...Yuck!

I would drive, if you have a car, or take the bus to MGM, once you get there, hop the boat or walk from there to the Beach Club. Honestly, any way you look at it, you will be transferring and on some form of Disney transporation for awhile. The way I suggested is the fastest and easiest route... we did it last year.

Here is the descenting opinion.

It was horrible. The only saving grace was the unending buckets of clams. There was nothing else that I found even remotely edible. They had this sirloin tips in sauce stuff that tasted like the meat had been boiled for weeks before being doused in catsup. There was almost no selection at all.

We will never go there again.

We dine there every trip. The selections are plentiful to say the least! There are lots of salads, u peel em shrimp, chowders, chicken, ribs, mashed and roast potatos, corn on the cob, mini hotdogs, and burgers, mac and cheese, mussels and clams, fish and usually some kind of pasta. The corn bread is very good and there are lots of other breads. The dessert selection is huge. The oreo cookie dessert is great. There's cakes, cheesecakes, pies, cookies, puddings, jello, strawberries and cream, etc. The restaurant is not gourmet but the food is good and the service is excellent and there is something for everyone even non seafood lovers.

We're going there for the first time in Nov.. I can hardly wait!

If you're use to better quality seafood...try somewhere other than Cape May. I found their seafood to be somewhat mushy, or rubbery. Not a bad place for quantity, but not the highest quality.
