How about CS recommendations?

Now that I have some TS booked ... what, if anything, do I need to know about CS? (We will be on the free dining plan.)

Any "strategies," things to avoid? Menu items that are generally great? (or awful?) Are they all kind of the same, or are some clearly better?

I will say that on our last trip we were to ABC Comissary at Hollywood Studios and my husband hated both the food and the atmosphere. (I wasn't impressed either.)

DHS has the reputation of having some of the worst CS restaurants in WDW. Go for the basic there - chicken nuggets, hot dogs, etc... other than being cold those are pretty hard to mess up. Or stop by Starring Rolls for a snack.

In Epcot we ate our way around "the world." We did not do China pretty common food there. We started in Germany and purchased one combo meal to split between the four of us. Everyone got a tast of Germany, Japan, Morocco and desserts in France. It was great and we were full!

At MK we go the opposite of DHS. We try to find food that is not burgers, hot dogs, etc... as it seemed every time we got them they were cold or greasy. We love CHH hummus and slaw sandwich or the tuna salad sandwich. El Peryta's taco salad was nice because you could fill it as you wished from their toppings bar.

In AK our favorite sandwich is the Italian sandwich at Pizzafari which was big enough to share. Also Yak & Yeti is really good too.

Here's some of our favorite choices:

Columbia Harbor House (MK) - love the tuna salad sandwich
Sunshine Seasons (Epcot)
Backlot Express (DHS) - it is probably one of the best choices at DHS
Cosmic Ray's (MK) - love the burger bar (Pecos Bill's at MK also has a burger bar)
Flametree BBQ (AK)
BEACHES and CREAM at the BC - not really a counter service, but very good. It is considered a TS that does not take ADRs.

dont forget at Downtown Disney.......Earl of Sandwich is the best.......I can hardly wait to go there.......we do some shopping and enjoy the atmosphere and eat happily.....

Cosmic rays have a great selection of cs foods....I love their chicken ceasar salads with their homemade soups.delicous....

comsic rays for sure at mk, i agree with you abc commisary was god awful! i really like pizza planet at hs. one of my faves that we do every trip at epcot is to get fish and chips a the uk pavillion. we then normally take them over to the canadian pavillion while waiting for off kilter to perform. i only like fish and chips from two places one here that i grew up on and from epcot. delish!
