Along the lines of the Black Friday TV thread, how about laptops? Full size not netbooks. My son is looking for one, and any info for online or in store (but we only have Walmart and Staples here) would be hlpful.

I saw that Dell pulled there ad, I am bummed. I wanted to check it out to see if I should stay up and order one at midnight.

We are looking at getting our son a laptop for Christmas, and I've been wondering the same thing about Black Friday deals.

If it is for a child (or just plain old for a male, even 37 YO like me ;)) don't get a laptop that is listed with integrated graphics. Make sure the graphics at least state nVidia or ATI. Kids will want to game on it and they won't be with integrated graphics (or 37 year olds like to game too, like me :lmao:)

I bought a Toshiba this past weekend at Best Buy for $329. I have a similar computer myself, a Toshiba from Best Buy that I got for $349 a few months ago (the one I bought is a gift) and I am very pleased with it--DS plays games and I do emails etc. Nothing terribly exciting but very functional. I have found that the Black Friday deals on laptops are just almost impossible to get unless you are up in the middle of the night. Maybe full sized laptops will be just under $300 (just my own personal guess) and I didn't mind paying an extra $30 to get up in the middle of the night with no promises whatsoever. Good luck!!!

I had bought this laptop at Walmart Saturday for $398 so I was really excited to see it for $70 cheaper on Sunday in Best Buy's flyer!! Returned the Walmart one yesterday.
:cool1:

I'd like to get one of those small laptops/notebooks for when I travel. Just want to use it for email and web surfing. Any deals out there? I have a regular-sized laptop, but it's really too cumbersome for me to travel with comfortably.

I have my eye on the Gateway at Best Buy for $399. It's for my mom and it has a backlit keyboard which she would LOVE.

Costco.com, Bj's.com or Samsclub.com all have good prices and items or models they do not have in stores.
Returns are 6 months on electronics/tvs in stores but I don't know about online. I think you can return in stores too. I've returned in Samsclub for an item I bought online without problems.
I think with Best Buy they have a restocking fee (???)

Might want to check them out they have black friday sales too.

I got one at Staples last year for my dd xmas. I got such a deal - it was around $249. It's an ACER - web cam, big memory, everything my dd wanted..she loves it and has never had a problem with it. I snagged the last one that was "hidden" in the back by an employee who wanted it. The laptop gods were definitely smiling down on me that day. In fact I even got the 3 year extended warranty that covers EVERYTHING - including dropping, drink spillage, etc. Best money I ever spent, so try Staples too.

anyone found any other laptop deals? i tried the newegg.com link posted on page 1, but it's no longer on sale.
