Just catching up on your take of all the shenanigans. Such a fun day full of great memory making! Wish I could have joined in a bit more but Mom was just not feelin' it. Next time!
Fun updates! Hope you are continuing to have fun with the new house - it's a unique mix of fun, stress, creativity and unplanned $$. But so worth it!!
I don't think I made it into the Odyssey Center during F&G - oops! Seems like everyone made the best out of the weather. Such a shame that your cruise was canceled. But that's just a reason for you all to coordinate another trip! Love, love, love that mushroom soup - so glad they kept it on the menu. Not sure what to make of Terry -- I mean who wouldn't want to hang out with you guys??-- but Jenny's face says it all.
I think R must have wanted this, I don't remember anything about it! Plus it looks healthy! I decided to get my nutrients by helping out another member of our group by eating the celery out of a bloody mary - I'm sure you've seen that photo already in someone else's report so I'll spare posting my glamour shot
R and I opted to split one of the special desserts they were running as a "promotion within a promotion" as part of Minnie’s garden party - this specialty cake. It was $7 and was cheesecake and carrot cake decorated adorably to the theme of the garden party
We enjoyed it though I recall it was very sweet! But it was so cute. I also don't always go for white chocolate options at home but somehow love them at Walt Disney World and loved nibbling on the adorable little white chocolate topper.
I'll be honest, the drizzly day and over-stimulation was getting to me by this point. Some of our group went into the American Gardens Theater to see Herman's Hermits while R and I and @Jenny Sanders and Joe went off to find shade and seats. We could still hear the music so that was a nice respite!
After our rest I was feeling much better and was elated to find that after we moseyed a little further that I was finally going to get to hang out with the fabulous and friendly @fallonkendra and her wonderful husband Luke @HeiChewChewChewsYou. Luke and Fallon are about the same ages as R and I and we absolutely adored getting to spend time with them on this afternoon and then (spoiler alert!) later in the trip at MK. It's so funny - I felt like we were on a first date a bit. You feel like you know people after reading so many reports here on the Boards and I personally get super nervous hoping that we hit things off in real life. Luke and Fallon could not have been sweeter. I can't wait until we get to see them again!
How cute is Fallon's outfit? It was May the Fourth, after all...
And then, just as the evening was winding down and we were practically closing down the lounge, these, uhhhh... characters showed up in the bar and ended up photobombing our group shot.
Can you spot the creepers? One of them was the now-infamous Terry. Please look at Jenny's face to see how we all felt about Terry. Also please observe Steve just getting the heck out of there in the background...
Oh my gosh, Luke and Fallon are so great! Dismeets make me nervous and bad at socializing, but they're so easy to hang out with. You and Fallon both looked positively lovely!
Just caught up on your report, and now I think I should catch up on writing mine! I don't feel so bad anymore that it's been so long since I last updated, since I see I'm in good company! Your house is adorable! I love it so much, and I love that you're painting the door red. I'm a big fan of red doors! Do you take your pics with a phone? They are really great! What an epic Dismeet! Some day I'd love to join in! So far I've only met a two DISfriends in real life at WDW, @Dan Murphy, and @jerusalemgal (DeeDee), and many many moons ago, when the DIS was in it's infancy, we did a DISmeet up in Massachusetts with several DISers, one of whom I think still is a huge part of running this site (Alex, are you still here?) I had a great time meeting DISers, and becoming real life friends with Dan & DeeDee. Oh wait, we did have another meet up, back around the year 2000, in Allentown, and we got to meet Lou Mongello of WDW Radio fame (I have no idea why he ran a DISmeet). Here are a few pics, but I don't remember who the other DISers are. Maybe someone reading this will recognize them!
Yes it was so surprising seeing you there and boy was Steve giddy to be able to share his shrimp with people IN PERSON (who knew they have shrimp emoji's now)
I gotta say, this photo of me and the OG of facepainting @Elevationist is like a dismeet dream come true. Some people I was nervous around... Billie wasn't one of them. All the hearts.
