How 1 trip turned to 2 and now turning into 3!! Update Pg 40 Days 3, 4 and 5!!

I was woken up at 5:40 this morning (I got to sleep in an hour!) by Corbin patting me and asking if we could talk about the rides at Mickey's house. :rotfl: As excited as I am, it's hard to to get it together first thing in the morning. It took me a minute, but soon we were talking about Dumbo and the flying dinosaurs and the camel that spits.

We also went over rules.

1. We MUST pack our listening ears and walking feet. Mickey will check when we get there to be sure we have both of them.

2. If Mommy or Daddy gets lost, find another Mommy with a stroller and tell her what happened. She'll help find your Mommy/Daddy.

3. You must try every ride once that you're big enough for. Mickey made all of these rides and we have to try them out to tell him what we like so he knows when he wants to make more.

4. Whining and crying will land you in the van alone. It's a long time to sit alone while we're having fun with Mickey.

5. You have to go to bed when you're told or you won't be able to get up in time for breakfast and get on the rides in the morning. Mickey doesn't like tired kids.

Those are the basics. I'm also going to print out a sign Rumblytumbly made about manners so we can take our manners with us as well. (we need all the help we can get!!)

Now I'm at work and actually have gotten a lot done this morning thankfully. I'm hoping to scoot out early...we'll see if I get my work done ;)

Alright, off to work so I can go home!!

Oh My gosh!!! You leave today!!!!!! I'm so excited for you. And, what's good for me, and you, is that you're going back again in a couple of months! Lucky you. Have a safe trip.
I love Carter's leash. He looks so happy to be wearing it.
Have a good time and we'll all be here waiting to read all about your Disney magic.

:thumbsup2 WOOHOOO!!!!

I'm paying for over-priced internet to check in with everyone :) As soon as I can figure out how to get some pictures up, I'll get them up. It's been a very busy two days!!

The boys were totally suprised by Grandma showing up in our room in the middle of the night and sleeping in our bed! :goodvibes

Yesterday we went to MK and DHS. MK we got a lot done, got "magical" extra fast passes when fast passing the Pooh ride, had an awesome birthday surprise with the cakes at GFC and a fun afternoon at DHS. We were too late to meet McQueen yesterday so we've got to try again tomorrow.

Today we hit AK this morning starting with our breakfast with Donald. The food was good and the jungle juice was very good! Dan threw a fit about wanting to get something else since he wouldn't like it. I made him try it first and he drank about 4 glasses of it!!

Corbin wasn't loving the characters at breakfast. He stood with them for a picture but only if Mom or Grandma was with him. After the safari ride, we went to Camp Mickey Minnie and Corbin RAN up to the characters for the first time ever!!!! :cool1: That was amazing. The three of us (adults) couldn't believe it. I was almost in tears but so very happy that he'd gotten over whatever the deal was.

We're back in the room now (obviously) but are leaving for the Halloween party and our BBB appointment vey soon! (like probably late but it'll be ok).

I'll check back in tonight or tomorrow with more of an update. I've taken a TON of pictures (especially this morning when Corbin was with the characters since he'd never done that before) so it'll be a long report when I get back!:thumbsup2

Alright...off to PARTY! :yay: :woohoo:

Oh my gosh!! I did expect we would hear from you so soon! This is so exciting! We get a LIVE update. I feel like I am right there with you. Well all I can say is if I wasn't getting back into the Disney Planning grove before I definitly am in it now. I am so disappointed in myself, really wanted to send stuff to surprise you guys at the hotel with. I just never got my act together. ...oh yeah and thenm there is the you did everything I could possibly think of!! I do have an idea for your Dec trip though.

How wonderful to and nice you to share you trip will us:yay: Glad to hear the breakfast at Donald's was good, I have been thinking about doing this.
Happy to know that Cobin ran up to the characters at Camp Mickey , that is a memory that you will talk about forever!!I bet your Mom is have a great time watching her grandsons, and I bet she is enjoying watching you watching your sons, lookingforward to reading more and SEEing the pictures!

Good Morning!

After closing down the MK last night and cancelling out 8am breakfast ressies this morning, here I am! :goodvibes Corbin didn't wake up until 7 this morning so there was NO way I'd be able to get everyone up and moving to be to DHS by 7:30 for the breakfast and EMHs. It's ok. Dan's in the shower right now and he wants to head over there for a little bit for the boys to see McQueen and he can ride TSM.

Last night was GREAT!! I met up with another DISer from the podcast board to have a dole whip in honnor of Bawb, who passes away earlier this year. Before that, we'd already done the "Cool Dude" at BBB and had dinner at Tony's (NOTE: stay tuned for that report...all I'm saying is you'll see a different side of me!) :confused3

The party was very cool. My plan was to run the boys until they dropped at Wishes. Dan was not into this so we sat and waited for the first parade and Wishes on Main Street. As fun as it was (would totally do it again!), it was frustrating that we weren't doing more. Much better planning needs to come in place for MVMCP.

Corbin crawled into the stroller after the parade and went to sleep. Carter made it partially through Wishes. Dan and Grandma took the boys back to the hotel and I stayed at MK. :woohoo: Dan came back for the last hour. Everything that we saw or wanted to do/ride was a walk on-NO WAIT!! :woohoo:

Alright...need to get dressed for the parks! This afternoon is our surprise menus, diver and cake! Hoping it goes well.

Thanks so much for everyone's well wishes-we're having a great time (despite fighting with my biggest 2 year old;) )and cannot wait to come back!

Have a great day!

Hey everyone!! We spent the morning at DHS (be sure to read today's TR when I get there!). We're resting now and going to head to EPCOT this afternoon. Our ressies are at CR at 4:20 and I want to make sure we're there with enough time to check in. We need to eat, ride Soarin and Test Track and see Nemo and Crush. Those are the "must dos" tonight! I'm praying we'll get them all done. This is the park that Grandma wanted to go to.

I must say I'm amazed at the crowd levels right now compared to Feb when we were here....there's NO ONE in the parks!

Alright...I need to try and get things around and packed up since we've got to go back to reality tomorrow. :sad2:

Here are some pictures from the past few days-I'll include them (and a TON more) in the TR!!!!

Hey All!! We're back (finally!!). We had an ordeal and I was ready to cancel our December vacation before check out this morning-more details on that to come in the TR! We hit the Disney outlet a few minutes from the hotel and I got some AMAZING deals! I'll take some pictures and post them. Dan's going to look at my computer tomorrow night to figure out how to get everything from my laptop to desktop so I can start my TR and share pictures. I'll post the link as soon as it's started.

I've got to try and get some stuff put away from the trip and send an email to AKL IPO to check all of my ressies....I'm still fuming about out "pre-check out" events today....alright I'm exhausted so I better get to work!

Welcome home!!! I glad your back, but sorry you had to leave the magic behind. Looking forward to hear all the trip. Especially the birthday surprise. I forgot to tell you I LOVED your rules. especially the one about listening with Mickey ears., I just might use them with my Grandson.

Thanks! The boys were ready to come home but we're excited to go back. I have to say it wasn't as hard to leave this time knowing we'll be back in a few months. Our friends from MI are thinking about taking a "spring" trip so we've got to work on dates and figure that out.

On the house note, we're seriously still considering building that house and going that route. Dan's going to work on it today and make sure it will work out for what we want/need. I also got him to agree that we'd slowly get some new furnature and "redecorate" (move some stuff around) and have a bit of Disney inspiration in our kitchen! :woohoo:

Hey Everyone!!! Here it is...the long awaited TR!!! Please note-I took almost 1,000 pictures (not including photo pass) so this is going to be more of a pictorial than anything else! Get ready!!!

For those who are just now joining in, the planning details are over in the PTR (link in my signature!). I didn't combine them because I've got December trip plans in that PTR as well.

The Travelers:

DH - Dan - We celebrated his birthday on this trip. He's a bigger kid than anyone and gets more excited about these trips than the kids do!

DS4 - Corbin - Also celebrated his birthday on this trip because he and Daddy share a birthday!! Loves Cars and was very excited about riding the Yeti ride :scared1:

DS1 - Carter - He loves "shishes" (fishes) and "DIS!!!" (Mickey Mouse). Loves anything and everything about Disney.

Me - Lynn - Love planning trips and put a lot of time and effort into making sure there's something for everyone.

The "Surprise Guest" - Grandma!!! - Grandma was very excited to surprise the boys at Disney with us. We had a hard time keeping it quiet but managed to pull it off!

A Bit of Background - I've spent a few months (about four) planning for this trip and put made a lot of changes and corrections along the way. Normally I'm like a child and need my schedule followed pretty closely. This trip however, I made an effort to step out of that zone and really went more with the flow. I also didn't pack the hotel room in my bag every time we left. It's really ok not to have everything with you all the time :goodvibes

Day One- - Departure Day!

Due to some uncontrollable circumstances at my office, I wasn't able to leave as early as planned. I managed to sneak out a few minutes early but not enough to make a difference at all really.

The packing craziness was not nearly as organized as usual due to our fire department's picnic being the weekend before we left. I was pretty busy with that and Dan was in class so I didn't do it like I normally would. This oversight and lack of planning on my part led to more craziness on departure day.

Dan had gotten out of work an hour before me but hadn't thought about trying to finish packing anything or complete the list he'd been given. :sad2: This led to Mommy comnig home and running around like a crazy trying to get everything into the car and making about 17 trips (yes 17...it's a good number ok!?!) back into the house for things that didn't make it in the bag.

This is NOT how our vacation was supposed to start....I started praying this was not a sign of how the vacation was going to go. Would my prayers be answered????

After asking another 14 times if anyone had to go to the bathroom (and going against my better judgement of MAKING Corbin wear a pull up) we left the driveway.

Before backing out, to follow up on a conversation Dan and I had the night before, I made sure he knew where we were going. His response "It's Disney...you think we're not going to find it???" Alright Mr. Smarty Pants! :rolleyes1 With that, I took the GPS from him, found the listing for WDW, programmed it in and we were off!

It wasn't two minutes (seriously!) before Dan was asking if we could stop for lunch. We'd just turned out of our subdivision. I gave him the "seriously!?!? you were home for an hour and didn't eat????" look. Once Corbin heard Dan ask for something, he of course wanted something as well.

I took this chance to explain to both of them that Mommy had a plan and this was not part of our plan. If someone else wanted to make plans, they were welcome to but I didn't see anyone jumping at the chance for it.

I also reminded everyone that there would be no whining on the trip. Mickey does NOT like people that whine. It's just not fun for anyone.

So with their bellies apparently rumbling, we kept going.

Carter was quite happy just with his "cuppy"-can't we all be that quiet and happy with a simple glass of water??

DisneyPicturesDay1001.jpg

A few more minutes later, the next request came.

"Can we watch a show?"

I struggled with this...yes I like them to be quiet in the car. No they don't watch tv that much at home. Yes we're going to Disney and I want to spoil them. No they didn't take a nap-I'd asked our nanny to keep them up.

A show it is! We watched Little Einsteins and everyone was happy. When that was done, we switched to Handy Manny. Then it started to rain…not too badly and thankfully I wasn’t driving. I cannot stand driving in the rain!

On a side note I'm very much a "what if" person..."What if this bridge collapses?" "What if the van breaks down?" "What if there are no rooms at the hotel?" What if?? This will be a recurring theme throughout this and all future trips!

I'm not a good rider by any means. I'm not a patient person either. These are not good qualities to have when taking a car trip to the happiest place on Earth.

I was hoping the boys would fall asleep watching the movies but that never really happened. Carter did fall asleep for a little while but not enough to count for anything. He did have his George (Curious George) and Dis (Mickey) so he was pretty happy.

Soon enough, out came the magical phrase "I have to go potty!!!!"

Normally, Corbin tells us when we've got a few minutes to find someplace to stop. He's learned that he needs to tell us as soon as he's got to go so we can find a bathroom or stop the car or whatever based on where we're at.

Dan took this opprotunity to find a McDonald's that magically had a bathroom Corbin could use! :rolleyes1

After Corbin went to the bathroom, the boys came back out, we hit the drive through and everyone was happy.

We do not eat fast food hardly ever and I think we've eaten at McDonald's about 5 times since we've moved here-that's including on road trips to MI and Disney! I'm not the skinniest person by any means and don't want the challenge for my children. I try to get them the healthiest stuff that they'll actually eat when we go to places like that.

Carter loves McDonald's apples-he'll gladly eat the entire bag by himself! :goodvibes Corbin's a little bit of a harder sell but usually he'll eat them. With everyone with their food and happy, we continued our trip.

Love, love, LOVED our cake at CR! I'll try and get the TR done so you can see it! :thumbsup2 It was very cute and tasted so good!!! Also, I got sick from the GFC cake (I've got stomach issues) but the CR didn't make me nearly as sick so that's wonderful!!!!

I've got pictures of the divers with their sign and the personalized menus too...I'll get them up soon too :goodvibes They were way better than what I'd pictured or seen! I would think that would be a cool place for a 12 year old's birthday-kind of grown up but fun too!

Thanks for coming over!!
