We get to make a trip to Houston in Feb. We are going to buy city passes, so that will bring us to the Space Center, Aquarium, Zoo, Children's Museum, Museum of Natural Science, and the Health Museum.

Can any 2 of these be done on the same day? We aren't staying in Houston so we will have to drive back and forth each day.

Also, any recommendations on great places to eat?

yes, several of those things can be done in one day. HMNH and the children's museum can be done on the same day, depending on how much you want to spend at the science museum and how old the kids are for the kids museum. The Aquarium is really only an afternoon thing, least it was last time I was there.

Keep in mind that Space Center is about 25 miles south of the city and traffic can be bad on that side of town, but if you want to spend the whole day down there be sure to check out the Kemah Boardwalk, only about 20 minutes from JSC.

As for food, Beck's Prime--2nd best burgers in town, there are several around town, Goode Co. for bbq, or any of the Pappas resturants--Pappasitos, Pappas burgers, Pappadeaux, Pappas BBQ. Old Towne Kolaches if you can find one--yummmmmmm

You said that you won't be staying in Houston - which side of the city will you be on? Be sure to allow plenty of time to get to where you're going particularly if you'll be coming from the other side of town.

The museums and zoo are all in the same area (not sure about the Health Museum!), the aquarium is likely the one downtown and of course Spacecenter is southeast.

I definitely agree with the suggestions for restaurants. There are a few Rainforest Cafes in the Houston area if your kids like those.

if your going to be at the Space Center defenitly check out The Kemah BoardWalk tons of food, rides and shopping :] (also the kemah boardwalk has an aquarium restaurant similar to the one in downtown houston, the one we have downtown has more attraction type rides and exibits)

I was at the Houston Zoo this last Halloween and to give you a heads up they are doing construction on the Zoo. they are expanding it to build an African Safari type area.

I agree pappasitos is a great place to eat..i do think becks prime is a bit pricey for me but they still have good food but i perfer 5 Guys Hamburgers over them. I also like Saltgrass, County Line, Ruby Tequilas, and of course where i work at McAlisters Deli :]
