Just wondering if housekeeping is still trying to nudge you out of your room early on your check out day? I read last year about them trying to do this a lot so on our last morning at BCVs I just put a very nice note stating we would be checking out at 11 a.m. and for them to have a magical day and it worked like a charm. No knocks on the door or anything. So I might do this at SSR as well in April.

I was at OKW in September and stayed in the room until close to 11 on checkout day and no one knocked or anything.

We just did a split stay AT SSR for 2 nights and BLT for 4. On our check out day from SSR housekeeping knocked at like maybe 9 and asked when we were leaving the room. We said around 1045 and she said oh ok that's fine. We actually left around 1030 to head over to BLT but that was the only time we even saw housekeeping the whole time we were at either resort.

On a recent stay at Poly, they did this. It is so annoying. What do they think? We forgot? "Oh, is it check-out day already? Imagine that. But we can't check-out yet. Our Season Passes haven't expired yet, and I still have money to spend!" I mean, come on. EVERYONE WILL BE CHECKING OUT. Now, if they are dragging their feet and it is after 11 AM, then go ahead and knock!

I will take some sticky notes and try the note on the door thing. Good idea.

Not on check out day but they came at 8:00am for their daily trash service! 8:00am!!! We are DVC members! We didn’t leave the room before noon a single day we were there. Even after I told the lady my husband was still sleeping she still came back at 8:15 and 8:45! It was crazy!!

They did this to us at the Polynesian at 7:25 AM. After a night drinking at Top of the world lounge it was definitely unappreciated and I let that be known to the management. Happy to say they gave us $100 room credit for the inconvenience

This happened to me at Poly this past October. I was not happy because the kids almost woke it. It was somewhere around 8:00am. Of course I checked the door handle for the "Do Not Disturb" (can't remember what it's called now) sign, and of course it was missing. I'm not sure if someone took it off accidentally or on purpose, but knocking early was intentional because they never came to do trash and towel service that early any other day.

I had a knock last month at OKW...which has not been the norm in my experience...but they also had a legitimate reason...they wanted to leave the basket of fresh linens in the entryway, which made sense, because they were going to pressure wash the building.

I also have had them knock at 7:30 am which is a little bit crazy. Definitely learned to put the do not disturb sign out (or whatever it is now) after that.

Ewww, that is ridiculous.

Ya, I think being proactive and placing an extremely nice and informative note on your door on your check out day, or maybe the night before, can be very helpful for mouse keeping and relaxing for the guest.

Even though it hasn't happened to me yet, I do not see a problem with them knocking once on checkout day to ask when you are planning to leave. They have a lot of rooms to clean and if they know that you are leaving at 9am and they can get a jump start on that, I think its fine.

Happened to us as we checked out yesterday at OKW. Knocked on our door at around 8:30am. Luckily, DW and I are early risers and had already dressed, had breakfast, coffee, and were in the process of packing at that time. I didn't mind it. I understand that they've got a lot to do and short amount of time in which to do it. (Room was ready by 4pm when we checked in, so can't really complain on that side of things either).

We're usually out of the room by 9am on check-out days. However, I can definitely see how knocking any time prior to 8am or 8:30 would be annoying for some people trying to sleep in on their vacations. If it's a concern, I would certainly leave a polite note or the please don't disturb sign.

If they want to know who will be vacating their rooms early why not ask at check in and note it in the reservation?

We’ve been disturbed by housekeeping a few times on checkout day. One CM sat outside our door in the hallway until we left.

We travel from the UK and flights home tend to leave in the evening. With a long flight ahead (7 - 9 hours) we often want to maximise our sleep on the last day. Getting woken up at 8 or 9 am is not fine :(
