We would like to rent points next year to stay in a villa at BWI. I have heard that housekeeping comes on the fourth day. I like to use a new towel each day after showering. How many towels do they give you to start out with in the villa? I'm trying to decide if I need to bring towels from home. We plan on getting a studio so we won't have a washer and dryer in our villa. TIA!

For a non-renovated studio you should get four bath towels, four wash cloths and two hand towels. Renovated studios have an additional bed so they probably have five bath towels (and five wash cloths) since they accommodate five guests. If you want more towels than that, you can purchase a towel pack for $6. I'm not sure how many towels you get in a towel pack so I hope someone else will post that information.

Some people may advise you to just grab towels at the pool and take them back to your room but please do not do that. DVC owners pay the cost of laundering towels including the pool towels through our dues. That's why housekeeping offers the towel pack, so that those who need more towels cover the cost themselves.

Good luck with your vacation planning!

At the newer resorts all rooms larger than a studio have their own washer dryer. We use them to clean towels on a regular basis.

You may also want to bring extra shampoo, conditioner and shower gel since you won't get that replace but every four days. Each bathing location will get one bottle of each. So a studio will usually get one of each every four days.

We plan on getting a studio so unfortunately we won't be able to wash our towels. I would love to have a washer, but just cant justify getting a one bedroom villa just for that. It would be so nice though.

We drive from GA so we have plenty of room to bring all our own toiletries. Towels were my only concern.

You will have access to a free washer and dryer to use. At the BWV, the laundry room would be on the first floor and you need your magic band to open the door. The washers and dryers look like they take money, but you don't need to feed them.

Day one of the cleaning schedule is your check in day if that helps.

:earsboy: Bill

When staying at the new Polynesian studios in July there were 4 bath towels for 5 of us. Also on trash and towel day that is all they did trash and towel, did not replace anything but the towels and took the trash. My husband went down the hall to ask the housekeeper for another towel and a soap and the housekeeper refused she said that is all the supplies they are given.

When I stayed at VGC in a 1 br, there were 2 sets of towels in each bathroom even though the room capacity is 5.

After more than 2 decades of membership I have found that the number of towels varies greatly so I have to wonder if the individual housekeepers sometimes make the decision. I've stayed in GV's a lot and had so many towels in just the master bathroom that is was almost funny. And folks that is with 3 other bathrooms in the place! :teeth: Then I've stayed in studios or 1 bdrm villas where they seemed a tad stingy. If I check in and there aren't enough towels for every person to have a set of at least 2 each of everything, I just pick up the phone and all and tell them how few towels were there at c/i. Most of the time I just go ahead and pay the $6 for the towel package. I prefer NOT to do laundry while on vacation unless absolutely necessary. :rolleyes1

My VWL studio had towels for 5.

It's not been uncommon for the new resorts to have some confusion about what should be provided. Speaking to the housekeeping manager should have gotten your supplies and also proper training for the housekeeper.
