House of Blues?

Anyone been the House of Blues and B.B. King's in Orlando? We went to B.B. King's last year when we were a PBH and were trying to decide whether to pay for a long taxi ride to return next year or a trip to DD to try the House of Blues. Any experiences? Thanks.

We have been to HOB many times in Orlando. It used to be one of our favorite places to eat. On our last visit in September we visited and were disappointed. As Disney has done, HOB has also dumbed down their food. Our salads were sub par, the ribeye that used to come with onion straws lacked that garnish. When we asked about that, the waitress made is sound like that was the norm on most dishes now.

We will probably give them another try but we definitely were not as pleased as we have been in the past.

They do have live bands at times, though we have never been during any times that bands were playing.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like I'd better plan time for a long taxi ride to B.B. King's. My DH would be heartbroken if he can't have a night of blues guitar.

Havent been to the B. B. one but House of Blues is fantastic. We went again this past September and the I always get the po boy shrimp sandwich and fries with their coleslaw......I tried a few bites of my dil's meatloaf and that was fantastic.......always nice to try different things

We've only been to HOB for lunch (make reservations if you want to get in for dinner).
They have great ribs and the rosemary cornbread skillet is to die for!!!

Sorry to be off the food topic, but what's happening with the HOB entertainment?? Last Jan we saw 2 ok bands there, The Wailers and the B'52's..Not the best, but a good hangout for a cold Jan nite..This Jan there is no entertainment..Does any one know why this is??

That's the thing I was worried about when I've been planning for our May trip. Next time you're in Orlando if you like a great Blues band experience you'll have to take a taxi to B.B. King's. The food is wonderful but the bands are the best. A wonderful night for my guitar playing DH.

Been to HOB a couple times in DTD, both instances the food wasn't that good; but the entertainment is pretty good and it makes for a great atmosphere.

I love the food at HOB! The Elwood is good (Chicken sandwich with sour cream, chilies, and spicy mayo)... It's not good FOR YOU but it tastes good

I see BB Kings has certificates on restaurant.com, we may give them a try on a future visit. Are they in the same mall/complex where the Regal Cinema with IMAX is located?

We took a taxi from PBH, so I'm not really sure where it is, but the Restaurant.com certificates work great. You just have to follow the rules. We bought the $100 credit towards $200 minimum. We didn't quite spend enough on dinner, but the server allowed us to pick out a couple of T-Shirts to bring up the tab. I'll probably do the same again.

The House of Blues has good food. I would definately go there to avoid a taxi ride

we have a ADR for Christmas at HOB. It looks like they have a good menu. Didn't know they had live entertainment.
