anyone know what the typical hours are for DTD buses?

how far of a walk is it from the bus stop to buena vista palace?

Thanks! :goodvibes

The buses run past midnight, because there are several establishments open until midnight. Disney will not knowingly strand anyone there.

It's been a while sicne I stayed at the Palace, but I'm pretty sure it's roughly a 10-minute walk, maybe a little less.

Where are you trying to get to? If you want to go to DTD it is a short walk across a sometimes busy street with no crosswalk in front of the hotel. You may want to walk to the light and cross there. Should not take more than 10 minutes (unless you are in the back of the resort).

Trying to get from DTD to Polynesian for dining reservation by 7:30a.m. I think taxi might be my best option; however, I have car seats to consider so it might be easier to change dining unfortunately. I was hoping they left early from DTD, but I don't know why they would leave that early.

I would say a Taxi is your best option because the buses from Downtown Disney to the WDW Resorts won't be running that early since their stores don't open until 9:30 AM. Now even if you could get on the bus from Downtown Disney to the Polynesian that early it will first stop at the Contemporary, so you also have to factor that in terms of total time it will take you to get there.

Buses to the resorts from DTD don't start running until after 10:30am. You would have to take a bus from DTD to POFQ, then take a bus from POFQ to MK and then monorail/boat to Poly. You would be better off taking the bus from Buena Vista Palace. I think it would drop off at the ttc(It had been years since I rode a Lake Buena Vista bus) and you could walk to the Poly

What happens before then because the buses for Downtown Disney also share with Typhoon Lagoon. In the past before 10:30 AM when I waited for a bus to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom I saw the bus arrive that said Downtown Disney/Typhoon Lagoon and saw some people get on, although I assumed they were getting on since they were going to Typhoon Lagoon.

Buses FROM resorts run to DTD and the water parks(keeping in mind opening times) run earlier. Buses FROM DTD back to resorts start running after 10:30.

The buses go from DTD to a nearby resort (like POFQ), and pick up there for a park.

That's how it works before 11 a.m.: buses from each park only pick up at (mostly) nearby resorts for certain other parks, then pick up at a resort near that park to go back to their home park. It's all very complicated, and sometimes there seems to be no logic to the route design.

It's up to the park's dispatcher to watch for "upstreams" and send a bus to take them to their resort, but according to reports on this board DTD no longer serves "upstreams".

You might also want to check with your hotel regarding what time their buses to the parks start. The MK bus will drop you off at the TTC, so you'd need to get on the monorail anyway - but your ride would be faster because it's only two stop to the GF instead of four and almost a full circle.

I don't know absolutely that the Hotel Plaza Boulevard buses run that early (although if it's EMH at MK, since the Hilton guests get to participate it'd make sense that there'd be transportation early enough), but it's another option worth investigating - and you wouldn't need the car seats.

The OP is not going to GF. She is headed for the Poly. As previously mentioned you can walk from the TTC to the Poly or take the monorail to the first stop.
