Hi We are going to DL the 24th - 29th of June we arrive Sunday Morning in Long Beach about 10:30 we weren't planning on going to the parks that day just hanging around Downtown Disney and the pool. I am thinking about having a character meal at storytellers anyone know what there hours are? We are doing a Dinner at Goofy's ont Monday for dinner so was trying to think of somewhere else that we could go to that we wouldn't have to go into the park for? Thanks:) :goodvibes

Well, Storyteller's character meal is breakfast only. Not sure of the hours myself (you can call Disney Dining or Vacation Planning to get those for during your stay), but I recommend not going much later than 10:30am because the character interaction won't be so hot with the breakfast shutting down and lunch service beginning (and characters going away.)

It's true -- there's not much character interaction if you have a late breakfast at Storytellers. We did, and were disappointed that we did not see the usual characters coming around to greet us.

Another fun place for kids outside of the parks is the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. No characters, but a fun family atmosphere and ambiance.

Totally agree there! Love the Rainforest. Although watch some of the little kids, some parents have said that when the animals start moving and the thunder starts some of them are really scared. We haven't had that experience personally - thankfully!

At least in the summer time they are open at 7am (have a June reservation).

I'm not happy to hear about the lack of character interaction during the late breakfast. :( I had hoped to book the latest breakfast possible, but there's no point in going if we aren't going to see characters.

BTW, which characters are always at this breakfast: are Chip and Dale the regulars? Are the Brother Bear characters always there as well or more hit and miss?

We usually do that breakfast between 9am and 10am and that works nicely - good time and still just a little late.

Chip, Dale, Koda, Kenai, Racoon (what's his name?), Rafiki (from Lion King), Park Ranger - not remembering anyone else but I know there are some. Those are the ones we ALWAYS see here.

So, would a breakfast at 10am be a good time to still get maximum character interaction? We're going in the summer so will be at the parks bright and early (as early as 7am for EE) so taking a break around 9:30 to go get breakfast might work for us.

I asked my DD if she wanted to go see the Princess's again for lunch or go see Koda bear. She wants to see the bear! I'll be in big trouble if he's not there.
