Trying to book a solo last minute trip for Memorial Day Weekend and hotwire seems to have better deals than Priceline. For instance, there's a 3 star hotel in Bonnett Creek area and they show you what 4 hotels it will be - it will be one of the 4 shown (so they say - I can only trust it). All Star Music and Sports comes up along with a couple others. Also, 4-star hotels available too - great prices and I've seen the contemporary and akl on there. Any tips on how to get one of the Disney owned resorts?

Also - share your recent wins on Hotwire!

Thanks,
Pam

I just looked at some to kind of see and there are a few things you can see to narrow it down, but I don’t know that it would be guaranteed. For example, if you scroll all the way to the bottom, it gives you the resort fee amount. If it says parking is free and there is no resort fee, probably not Disney now....or if the resort fee doesn’t match their parking fees. Their parking fees are pretty odd numbers so this may help if it includes it there I guess. Also, if it has free breakfast, not Disney, etc. I sometimes just try looking at things like that when booking Hotwire, but I’ve never booked a Disney Resort through Hotwire.

Thanks - never heard of that. I'll look into it.

They are very helpful there. They only ask that you use their links to Hotwire and/or Priceline when you do decide to make a purchase as that's how they generate revenue.

The more you practice it, the better you will get being fairly certain you're on the right track.

If there's any resort fee at all, it's not Disney. If there's a free breakfast, it's not Disney.

The free parking is tricky because Disney no longer has free parking, but some of the regular descriptions on hotwire (not the hot deals, just the regular bookings where you know what hotel you're getting) still say free parking as a listed amenity, but then contradict that and list the parking fees in the full description of the property. I wouldn't go on that.

I also look to see what hotels Hotwire is offering for open bookings, and compare the amenities and descriptions to the opaque bookings. Sometimes you can match them up.

When we used Hotwire last year we got Silver Lake Resort which we were really happy with and would def stay there again.
