Hotwire areas...which hotels???

Okay, so I took a look at hotwire, and while I'm very interested in trying it, I can't really grasp where the hotels are.

When they say Lake Buena Vista and DTD...are those the hotels that are in DTD or are there other ones that I'm not thinking of? Has anyone gotten one of these hotels? And which star rating did they have?

Also, they have the Maingate area...where abouts is this?

Also, has anyone ever gone for a 2 star? Which hotel did that end up being?

Try this site, if you open up another browser window or tab with your Hotwire search results, you can often identify which hotel is being offered by comparing amenities.

I guess I would like to know also, are the LBV the nicer hotels overall? I just can't picture where they are as opposed to the maingate Celebration section. You guys could probably better help me with that...I'm not sure the bidding sites know as much about that stuff. Are the LBV ones really just the DTD area?

No, LBV covers the DTD Disney area, hotels on SR 535, US 192 ( which is where you will see hotels with the name Maingate ) and the Celebration area.

We used Hotwire to book Homewood Suites on I-Drive and it was an awesome deal. We were able to lock a suite down for $45 a night TOTAL... I used betterbidding.com to make sure I knew FOR SURE the property that we were staying at before we booked. If you use better bidding and do your homework, you can really score big.
