Hotwire $27 3* = Days Hotel Main Gate West

It was just like what I had decided based on someone's info on where to go and look for amenities, etc.

Unsure of the hotel, but hopefully can make do for two nights @ $27 rate. Taxes & fees + rate = $67.56 for a Friday and Saturday night after our 7 night condo stay.

Think 3 stars should be okay. Stayed at a 2-1/2 and got Best Western Lakeside one time... so decided the 3 star should be better. I hope so, anyway.

Anyone know? I saw on Travelzoo where we could have gotten the Comfort Inn Lake Beuna Vista for $33.

3 stars on Hotwire are just OK for the most part, not great, especially since they list some subpar places like Ramada at 3* level. If your budget allows it try for 4 star or better on Hotwire.

I just got Hyatt Universal (3* and formerly an Amerisuites) for $35/night on Priceline for 2 nights before we check in to our condo.

I just booked the same deal on Hotwire. Once you book it you can't take it back but I always head straight over to tripadvisor.com once I know the hotel. The reviews are actually pretty good so I am hoping for the best.

We just booked the hyatt place near universal for 6-11 to 6-13 on hotwire for $41 per night. Hotwire calls it a 3* - but from what I have read, its much better than other 3* - betterbidding.com is a good place for info on hotwire and priceline

I sure hope it is better than I think. We just don't have any faith in a Days Inn any more and this used to be Days Inn & Suites and still has Days in the name. I don't equate them with Holiday Inn, Doubletree, and whatever Hotwire listed as a 3*.

Of course, a girl I work with just went to Legacy (2*) for $18/night through Hotwire. She said it was really nice and they even got upgraded to a better room since occupancy was low.

Stayed there through Hotwire once and I can say it was awesome. It should be closer to 3.5* and you get breakfast.

We stayed at the Days Hotel two or three times. I think it has little to do with Days Inn and mainly uses their booking system. Look at the rooms on Expedia. What you see is what you get. We thought it was very nice, We loved the fridge and microwave. They're still updating some of the common area but, for the most part, it's nice.

I've read a lot of reports from people who've stayed there and ther is one problem most everyone seems to have: the keys don't work very well. My advice is don't give up. Swipe the key slowly and keep trying until you get it.
I hope you like the hotel. It's so close to the AK. Very soon after you leave the lot and pull onto Sherbeth, you can see Everest.

That's what I really like about the motel. We stayed at Silver Lakes once, and it was awesome just going out of the back gate right onto Sherbeth...

I am glad you liked the motel -- makes me feel better about it. Didn't want to get stuck in a dump.
