We're planning a trip to DLR/DCA in Sept and we're looking for hotels with suites to sleep 6 people. We've stayed at the Homewood suites way down from Disney. Those were nice, inexpensive, but far from the park.

We're currently looking at the Marriott Suites, Double Tree Suites, and the Desert Palms Suites. Has anybody stayed at any of these places and if so, can you share your experience? We don't plan to spend any time in the rooms except to sleep so we're looking for a comfortable sleeping place, inexpensive, but clean. I don't want to stay at some cheap, dirty, motel kind of place. We're looking for inexpensive, clean, and nice.

Your thoughts or do you have other recommendations?

Also, we'd like a place that can park a full size SUV with no problems.

Lastly, do you know which one has their own shuttles? I believe the Homewood Suites had their own shuttle so we didn't have numerous stops to mess with.

I have stayed at the Desert Palms before (though not in the suites). They are nice, clean and have a great breakfast. Its about a 10-15 minute walk to the park (we were pushing a stroller though).

I know that the Desert Inn and Suites have some really nice sized suites (again haven't stayed in the suites but stayed in a regular room. They have floor plans on their website and their suites look big). This hotel is literally across the crosswalk from the park entrance. It is not fancy by any means but is clean and includes a small breakfast and is cheaper than Desert Palms. The distance and price alone have made it our newest go to hotel.

I have stayed at Marriott Suites and like it very much, but it is far from the parks. You will have to drive or take theART shuttle. I think the rooms will be too small foe 6 though. The beds in the family suite are only doubles, and the pull out sofa looked like a double too. Check out the family suite at Camelot across from main entrance on Harbor. Two queens, plus one King and a pull out in living room. Only one bathroom though. Good luck!
