We have an early morning flight out of Pittsburgh and will have to stay overnight . Has anyone stayed at a hotel near Pittsburgh airport that allows you to leave your car for the week? Any recommendations?

if you have an early flight, make sure to verify the hotel shuttle will get you there in time. When looking make sure you are looking at Coraopolis locations, vs one of the further flung properties.

there are many hotels in the area. Most I've priced stressed you must book a package vs room-only to get a parking pass to place in your window (to avoid being towed). :confused3 I've often wondered if they would tow without it, haven't chanced it.

The Hyatt attached to airport is our first choice, but rarely fits our budget as we aren't interested in using the long-term lot at the airport.

Marriott (although they often have large groups that are noisy i.e. weddings, jr sports teams) & Choice suites are solid choices. Last we utilized it, the shuttle started early. We often find ourselves riding the first shuttle of the day with various flight crew. was advised by the front desk that the crew takes priority as to available seats on the shuttle, but have never ran into an issue. Note that Choice Suites shares a shuttle with Marriott and we were picked up second the last time we used them but still found seats.

Several Hilton properties are a bit closer and are nicer options than Marriott/Choice imo. At least one of them has 24 hr shuttle and 10 day parking pkg available. Friends have told me they've booked the lowest rate they could find at these properties and then negotiated a daily parking rate when checking into the hotel. I've yet to try this strategy.

The Sheraton in the area has been renovated, rooms are nice and those comfy beds are great, but it's an obviously older building. Again, we have booked same nights as wedding receptions being held and experienced restless sleep. they seem to be a bit lax as to blocking out large groups on specific floors vs the Marriott's handling it better. their shuttle hasn't worked for our early fight times lately either.

good luck:)

Often times, you're better off just using one of the off airport lots and taking the shuttle from there. Many of the hotels don't offer 24 hour shuttle service and will start at 5-6am. The Parking Spot and Charlie Brown lots are both reliable, quick and easy to use. With online coupons, they run $7-9/ day. We've used both for years without issue.

We have stayed at the Embassy Suites on Cherrington Pkwy, and they offer a park n fly option, but you do pay more for your hotel stay if you take that option -- and might not make it any easier on yourself in the long run.

Thank you so much for your replies. I think we will probably just stay at a nearby "regular" hotel and park in a long-term lot by the airport. Our flight departs at 6:30 am, so I do not want to miss a flight because a hotel shuttle isn't running early enough! We live in Jamestown, NY, and the drive is about 3 hours to Pittsburgh - so we'll probably just grab a hotel room in the area from Hotwire and not worry about the "park and fly" packages.
